I'll write the description in English, but I speak German so feel free to write in German.
Ich schreibe die Beschreibung des Zimmers auf Englisch, kann aber Deutsch. Du kannst mir also gerne auf Deutsch schreiben.
As I'm going to be away for two weeks coming up, I'm renting out my beautiful 24qm Erkerzimmer/"bay-window" room for that time. As my travel is booked and I need to live here up until I leave and right when I get back, that means there is unfortunately NO possibility to extend the dates.
The pictures show what's here fairly clearly, but just the furniture would be there for you to use of course. I will put the computer and the bikes away, etc; if you like to play piano, I'd be happy to leave it for you to play, otherwise I can put that in the cellar. I'll also put the rug into storage. The real highlight of the room is the huge loft bed, with a large mattress up there and plenty of space to relax.
The balcony is lovely and the room is south facing. This means you have to like sunshine in the mornings!
Important note about the balcony: although it's attached to my room, we share it, especially as my flatmates smoke. Of course if my door is closed they don't disturb me, but anyone who takes the room needs to continue sharing the balcony so they don't have to leave the flat each time they want to smoke or otherwise enjoy the balcony. Likewise, absolutely no smoking in the room -- only on the balcony!
I live right in heart of Kastanienallee -- if you're not familiar with Prenzlauer Berg, there are countless bars, restaurants, cafés, and shops all within easy walking distance.
The Schwedter Straße Tram (M1, 12) is directly in front of the building, and the U2 (Eberswalder Str., Senefelder Platz) and U8 (Rosenthaler Platz) are both 5-10 min walking distance.
My lovely, friendly flatmates (Johanna from Austria and Constanze from Germany) both work normal job hours during the week and therefore get up fairly early. It is not necessary that you fit this schedule (I freelance and have very irregular hours myself), but you must respect everyone's bedtime and need for peace and quiet during the week, especially as sound tends to travel a bit between the common areas in the flat (bathroom, kitchen, hall) and the rooms. If you would also be getting up between 6-8 in the morning regularly, you'd just need to talk to them briefly to make sure bathroom usage time doesn't clash.
That being said, we like listening to music, sitting in the kitchen and drinking coffee, beer, and/or wine and chatting. It's quite relaxed.
We speak both English and German in the flat.
We do have a Putzplan/cleaning plan (Kitchen, Bathroom, Trash/Recycling) -- it's about a half hour maximum work once per week. All you'd do is take over my task for the two weeks.
We've got a fully fitted, newly renovated kitchen, as well as a washing machine and clothes drying racks.
Write me an email with the basics about who you are and what you'll be up to with your time in my beautiful room and in Berlin. Feel free to send your facebook or whatever if you like, but know that it's not necessary.
Of course, if you have any questions (other than flexibility of dates!), I am more than happy to answer them. I look forward to hearing from you!
I'm looking for a deposit/Kaution equal to the rent for the same time (290€). I'm not profiting on this -- it's just the cost of my rent divided out over the number of days I'll be gone. All utility costs and internet are included.
