This apartment is located in a nicely renovated old building in Schwetzingerstadt, Mannheim. Neighbors are a mix of small families and students, all very nice people!
This apartment is perfect for a couple as well as for students to share. There’s cable (Kabelschluss) installed in all the rooms. The windows were all changed around 4 years ago, so they’re practically new and has very good isolation. The kitchen belongs to the owner, except the Washer and Dryer, and can be used without any charge. There’s also an Air Conditioner installed in the living room, which can cool down the whole apartment and is a life saver in summer (if you’ve been to Mannheim during summer you know what I mean!).
The first bedroom which we actually use as an office is big and really bright during the day! The second bedroom is a little bigger and has a ceiling fan with light that you dim and control with a remote controller! Pretty cool, huh?!
There’s also a storage space in the Keller available if you need it. Small pets are generally allowed, but it has to be discussed with the owner.
Rent + nebenkosten are 850 Euros. Not included are electricity, gas, internet, and cable. We can share with you the average price we pay, it’s quite inexpensive.
Schwetzingerstadt is a very central and convenient neighborhood in Mannheim. You can find all you need within walking distance including a Lidl and a bakery right across the street, Rewe 5 minutes walking, restaurants, hairdressers, post office and much more. Very well served with public transportation (one minute to Krappmühlstrasse Haltestelle) and you can also walk to the Hauptbahnhof in 8-10min! With a 2 minutes walk you’re in Lindenhof near John Deer, having access also to all the services on that side including a gym (VeniceBeach) and in 5 you’re in the Hochschule!
It’s basically a very nice apartment with all we ever wanted and if we were staying in Germany we’d remain here for a long time, for sure. Since we’re leaving the country, we’re selling almost all our stuff to the next tenant for a bargain! For 2100 Euros, you’ll take all the furniture in the apartment (bed with spring mattress, bedroom cupboards, dressing table, two office tables, two chairs, wardrobe, shoe cabinets, living room cupboard, tv stand, couch, sofa), two TVs (48in and 21in), sound bar, Washer and Dryer, apart from stand lights and kitchen appliances (2 coffee makers, microwave, mixer, food processor, cutleries).
There’s no parking place available in the building, BUT you can get an authorization to park on the street. There’s also the possibility of renting a parking place in the neighboring building, which I do, for 45 Euros.
