The room is approximately 20 m² in size. It is facing the backyard so relatively quiet and also super bright (you'll be facing south, you enviable creature!). Walls are painted in a charming lavender (wasn't me, but I don't mean to be ironic when I say it's charming!) and there's some lovely art nouveau stuck on the ceiling to stare at if you're into staring at the ceiling (if you are, we will most likely get along).
There is a door between your room and mine, but your predecessor's boyfriend provided some acoustic insulation and a shelf to make it WG-fitting (thanks m8!). The curtain contraption will stay as well (thanks again, predecessor boyfriend!).
The furniture in the pictures will be removed before you move in. Oh yeah, nice wooden floor. Neat.
The château in question is on Weserstraße, but not on that part of Weserstraße where ppl vomit all over the place and more and more of those suspicious indian restaurants with all-day happy hours are setting up shop, but on the corner of Wildenbruchstraße. So not as busy, but still full of modern urban dandy/hipsterrific infrastructure (cafés, bars, designer vintage stores, edgy restaurants, connaisseur cinemas, co-working spaces, you get the idea).
Bus stops (Erkstraße or Wildenbruchplatz, 104) are less than 5 mins away, Rathaus Neukölln U-Bahn approximately 10 mins, Hermannplatz U-Bahn approx. 20 mins.
Hi there! I (Theresa, almost 27) might be your future roommate. I am originally from Bavaria and have been living in Berlin for 4 years now. I am currently studying human-technology-interaction (officially) and computer science (inofficially) at TU and working as a statistics tutor (at TU) and developer (also at TU). Yes, I spend most of my waking life at TU. To be honest, I am quite the nerd and the library is my natural habitat.
That said, I am not the dull kind of nerd (I hope). When I'm not at the library, I can be found enjoying life in one of Neukölln's fabulous bars (thanks, Neukölln!), at the gym listening to the latest Trap releases, at the cinema watching artsy or outright trashy movies (tbh, I'm not picky in this regard), in bed binging on the latest memes/staring at the ceiling/reading .... yeah, I guess in summary there do exist some activities I regularly engage in, more on that when we meet IRL.
Something else: I'm pretty neat. Cleanliness and tidyness are the twins I'd like to have a threesome with, if you excuse this utterly tasteless metaphor. If you do not equally worship those concepts, some difficulties will likely emerge.
A word on parties: I love parties, but most of the time I prefer them to take place outside of my home. An occasional soirée or birthday event: totally! people over every weekend: no thanks. Berlin is a crowded place and I need my home to be some kind of oasis of tranquility (sorry, another whack metaphor, this time just plain cheesy).
There's a balcony which belongs to my room but we will hopefully enjoy some sundowners there together! Do you love Aperol Spritz as much as I do?
Also the kitchen is sort of still under construction, which means a lot of room for improvement - we'll figure it out.
