My boyfriend moved to Canada last month :-( so now I have too much space in my apartment! Because I am naively hoping he will come back after his first Canadian winter, I prefer to limit the lease to maximum 1 year. Renting the room for just a few months is also possible. Preferred start date of rental is July 15th.
About me: I am 43, Belgian, have been living in Cologne for 21 years because I like it here (plan was to stay just one year...). Politically on the left side of the spectrum. I am a quiet and friendly guy, outgoing (for drinks, food, travel, hiking etc.). You should know I suffer from 'misophonia' (I cannot stand loud eating noises) and you're not allowed to hate Madonna if you want to live with me ;-)
About my flat: it's in the wonderful Südstadt, with great bars, restaurants and shops, close to parks and the river Rhine. The flat is in an 'Altbau' building with high ceilings, on the first floor, directly above a craft beer shop! Common areas are balcony, bathroom, kitchen and living room.
About the room: roughly 12 square meters. Front-facing. With a double bed (1m40), table and chair, wardrobe.
About living together: I want it to be enjoyable, i.e. to have breakfast or dinner together from time to time or grab a beer in my favourite bar Formula Uno around the corner. Unfortunately there won't be much time for that as I am travelling for work very frequently, sometimes for up to three weeks per trip. I am looking for a flatmate who I can trust 100% to live in my flat and take care of my plants ;-) while I am away.
Generally speaking common areas should be kept tidy, but how you keep your room is none of my business.
About the price: proposal is 495 Eur per month including all costs (heating, electricity, internet, GEZ) and a weekly cleaning service of the common areas (except during holiday periods) plus spotify premium!
