The room is spacious and has got one window facing the east side, so you get a lot of sun in the morning hours.
I renovated the room 1,5 years ago, so you got a beautiful wooden floor.
Since the whole building is a so called “Altbau” the ceiling high is around 3 meters, which makes the room look bigger.
The room got an old-school DDR-Dauerbrenner stove, which is easy to handle, but I'd be great if you have some experiences.
The flat is part of a house-project located in Connewitz and right below is the so – called “Fischladen”, down there they have got some bands playing occasionally. Besides that, the room is fronting the street, which is packed with bars.
So, I can’t recommend the room to somebody who is sensitive to noises and music.
You can get to the next tram station within three minutes by foot and in general, you would be living right in the heart of Connewitz, which can be a love and hate relationship.
Many restaurants are close by and three supermarkets (Rewe, Lidl & Netto) are in close distance.
The forest is close by as well.
My name is Max, I have lived in this flat for a long time and I renovated everything by myself with the help of some friends.
The Flat is a unique place, but I have to admit it also has got some downsides. e.g. the coal stove.
During the week I will be usually in Potsdam since I study there, but most of the weekends I will be in Leipzig. That fore, I'm looking for a clean and reliable person to take care of the place while I'm gone. I'm born in Leipzig and in my leisure time I organize shows in Leipzig and run a DIY-Label with some friends.
It's important to mention that I got a dog as well, her Name is Alma and I share her with my ex-room mate, which means that she will be around from November until the end of January.
So you should get along with her but she is easy-going, calm, and interested.
I consider myself as a very tidy person, and I'm not keen on discussing the cleaning schedule, I expect my roommate to be grown up and to be able to clean their mess.
Since I'm living on a vegan diet for many years, I don't want any meat in the flat.
The flat gets heated with coal stoves, and it would be good if you got already some kind of experiences with coal stoves. The bathroom gets heated with an electric heater, which I usually just turn on if I’m about to have a bath or a shower. The Kitchen is unheated.
A massive bonus of the kitchen is that since I built everything by myself, the work height is suitable for tall people. If you are into baking, I can’t recommend my gas stove!
All the costs are just estimations, and I give them to you so you can get a feeling for the price.
You would also have to pay for coals, and I don’t know the price for the coals yet.
The final rent won’t be much more than what I have estimated so far.
If I consider you as a flatmate, we would have to ask the other people of the house project as well.
That’s because it’s a house project, but that also makes the place special as well.
Within your message, please answer the following questions:
— When could you move in?
— Do you got experience with a coal stove?
— Have you lived in a house project before?
— some random fact about yourself
The room will be available from basically now until February (with the possibility of an extension).
