Welcome to the Factory Flat!
We rent the guest room upstairs in our beautiful, modern, central, bright, spacious apartment - perfect for workers and graduate students new in town!
The Factory Flat:
is a maisonette at the top floor of a XX century industrial building, with a view of the city center that will leave you like "wow". The building was renovated in 2013. Downstairs lounge area: a large living room with a big new sofa, big TV with Netflix and Playstation (big game library if you are interested), dining table, stereo hi-fi set CD, tape and vinyl and connect your laptop if you want, and spacious kitchen area fully equipped with a big fridge, Kitchen Aid, lots of tools and a little herb garden - we love to cook. Flat includes supply of original Italian olive oil. Five windows. Bathroom with bathtub. The floor in the flat is good quality wood/laminat. Upstairs: our bedroom, your bedroom and your bathroom.
Your room:
The room has two windows, one futon bed with comfortable mattress 140 cm large, a small desk with chair, and a wardrobe. The bathroom is very large, with window, and shower.
Other features:
Underground, a space for safe bike storage easily accessible by ramp. In the inner yard, a green area equipped for grilling in summer.
The building is in the heart of the city, in front of Rossplatz tram station (tram 16 and 9) and 2 min walk from Wilhelm-Leuschner-Platz tram station (tram 10, 11, 8, 14 etc). 14 min walk from main train station. Supermarkets (Aldi and Edeka), restaurants (including the best and original Szechuan place) and pubs right at the corner.
Walking distance to the neighborhood of Südvorstadt with more pubs and restaurants, and the proper city center, with the fancy shops and bars, the flat is on a busy street (safe walking at night) but is quite silent because of top floor. Other cool and coming parts of the city like Plagwitz, Lindenau, Connewitz and Reudnitz are easily reachable in minutes. A little park/garden on the side of the flat to enjoy sunny afternoons.
Seriously the best spot in town, convenient for mobility and enjoying the city.
The flat is shared with Tim, a German financial advisor who likes cooking, metal music and watching series (fluent English). His girlfriend Chiara, Italian scientist, works in Zurich and lives in the flat one week per month.
The private room is ideal for short or long term staying, for visiting students and postdocs, for workers who just arrived in the city and are searching for a more permanent solution.
We both lived in international WGs for many years and we enjoy a few chats in the evening, sometimes cooking together and have a glass of wine, and watch some Netflix. We love to invite friends for dinner.
