American PhD student seeking friendly, central WG

Hello,

My name is Alexi. I am a 26 year old American guy currently living in California, but I am about to move to Munich to start my PhD in statistics at LMU. I do not know German very well yet, but I am excited to learn! I'm looking for a furnished flatshare for anywhere from a few months to long-term, preferably in a central location with friendly roommates. I am fairly quiet, clean, and easygoing. I love to go to concerts, cycle, hike, read, and watch films.

I do not know anyone in Munich yet, so I am ideally looking for roommates who are sociable and willing to hang out after work, cook together, explore the city, get dinner or drinks, and so on. However, if you are very busy or travel a lot, that's fine too! I will sometimes be wrapped up with my doctoral work, but I definitely want to take time to explore Munich and perhaps take the occasional weekend trip. I am happy to help out with chores and cleaning around the apartment. I like to cook a few times a week, typically a big pot of something for everyone to share. I'm open-mined and tolerant; I have lived in shared apartments for the last 8+ years with both men and women and I've never had any major problems with my roommates.

I have a wide variety of artistic interests that I'm always happy to chat about. For example, lately I've been watching a lot of films by Wong Kar-Wai, and I'm in the middle of Proust's series of novels 'In Search of Lost Time'. As for music, I enjoy dance music (techno, house, electro, and jungle), ambient, new wave, dub, hip-hop, shoegaze, and experimental, among other genres. I also love bicycles, for both racing and touring.
