ABOUT THE ROOM:
Will be available from the 01.01.23
The room is about 14-15 m2. Our flatmate will leave the furniture behind (double bed, table, chair and a large wardrobe) for no fee (keine Ablöse!). This means of course that if you don’t want any of the furniture, you can just get rid of it.
Rent: 469 euros a month
Internet: 5 euros a month
Gas/electricity: 25 euros a month
ABOUT THE FLAT:
The flat has 4 bedrooms, a bathroom with a toilet, bath and shower and a second room with a toilet. Then there is a lovely upstairs area that is a combined living room/dining room and connects to the kitchen, which has an oven, stove, 2 fridge freezers and microwave as well as all the usual kitchen appliances which we all share. We also have a medium sized balcony, that’s lovely to relax on in summer, and great if you like plants/gardening. We also have a small cellar space for storage.
The flat is located in Giesing, close to the U2 station Silberhornstrasse, as well as numerous other bus and tram connections. Supermarkets such as Edeka and Lidl are < 5 minute walk away. It’s a nice area, close to the river and Flaucher, and a short bike ride/trip on public transport from the centre of Munich.
ABOUT US:
Your new flatmates would be:
Jennifer (25): I moved to Munich in July 2022 to start my PhD researching parasites. I’m originally from the UK, and have also lived in Hong Kong, Switzerland and Austria. Aside from my work, I love any sport that takes place in the water (river swimming, scuba diving, unterwater rugby etc), love learning new languages (e.g russian, chinese, norwegian), watching formula 1, playing boardgames and watching detective/murder mysteries. I also love hitchhiking and couchsurfing through different countries when I travel.I’m also vegetarian.
Nuria (29): Originally from Spain, moved here this year, works as a designer. She likes cooking (and makes a delicious tiramisu). She also likes hiking, skiing and formula 1,
Julien (33): German/French, works for a car company, big coffee fan and looks after the jungle of plants in our living room and on the balcony. He enjoys going to the gym, hanging out with friends and walking along the Isar. Makes an excellent banana bread.

It’s really important to us that this is not a “Zweck-WG”. Nuria and Jennifer are still both quite new to the flat, but we enjoy chatting about how our day went, when we see each other in the evening. From time to time we plan a WG-Dinner where we all get together and cook something. However we all work, and appreciate that everyone needs their space sometimes. Everyone is welcome to have their friends round, however we’re not a big party-WG. We have a cleaning plan, and use Splitwise to split the cost of toilet paper/washing up liquid etc.
