WG-Zimmer in 4er WG

Room
From the 1st of April a room in our WG will be vacant. Your future room is approximately 13 m2 with a brand new floor and a big bright window. The window is perfectly placed in front of the newly built shed and garden we have around the house, so you do not have to worry about people walking by your window plus you have a nice view towards the nature in our garden. The room would not be unfurnished, we have a white wardrobe that you could have if you wish, but if you need help to find furniture we are here for you. Therefore, you have all the room needed for your furniture to dispose of the space in the room as you wish.

The room would be around 311 euros a month (the room only is 247 euro, gas is 30 euro, electricity is 25 euro, Internet is 9 euro).
The flat consists on the 4 rooms where each of us lives, a spacious entrance/hall, a toilet and a bathroom with a shower. We dispose of everything one might need in the kitchen (oven, water cooker, kitchen utensils, plates, glasses, cutlery,… and two fridges, each fridge for 2 people). Nevertheless, feel welcome to bring any kitchen utensils that you want. In the basement of the house we have rooms for storage plus the washing machine and a room where to hang and dry the laundry. The washing machine is for free. Also, we have private parking space at the entrance of the house.

Location
The location could not be better. It is very centric without being in the busy and loud city centre.
Our house is directly next to the Kupferbau (so no need to wake up too early if you have your Vorlesungen there, now with corona this is extra helpful of course (feel the irony)). It is approximately 2 min to the main library and 1 to the Mensa (although it is being renovated at the moment). To the city centre it is aprox. a 5 min walk through the Botanischer Garten. Also, the bus stop Brunnstrasse is directly at the door (seriously people, this couldn’t be better) and the nearest grocery store is REWE, which is 3 min away.

WG Life
As aforementioned, we are a WG of four people. Canay (32 and from Cyprus) is writing her PhD in archaeology, Emma, (22 and Germany) is studying her bachelor in cognitive science, and Esther (27 and from Spain) studies English Literature and is struggling to write her Master Thesis and Will (24 and British) he is not a roommate, he doesn't pay rent but you will find it in the house like all the time and can make you English breakfasts if he isn't deported due to Brexit by the time you come live with us . As you see, it is a diverse house where one can find inspiration and motivation. Canay is basically an artist, in her one can find the inspiration to draw or paint or make mosaics as well as learn about gardening. As we said, we have a big garden which is thrives during summer with zucchini, strawberries, cucumber, lettuce, Kohlrabi, reddish, tomatoes, spinach, herbs… As we were saying, each roommate brings something to the house and Esther’s door is always open to lend books, discuss literature or do any sports. Emma is into making new music, drawing (she is seriously talented) and she plays visual lights in parties. And oh! Did we mention we have a cherry tree in the front? Although we do not get to eat the cherries since there is a cute roommate we forgot to include. That would be Aurora, she is the squirrel of the house and lives upstairs-on the tree. We cannot share her studies because she does not know yet what to do academically but for the moment she lives in harmony with us and we share the garden with her 😉. When we have time, we like to be in the kitchen and hang out there but some of us also try to meet once a week to have breakfast all together. Plus, Canay cooks delicious meals and if you ask nicely Esther could try to attempt a kind of paella (but we must inform you the last time she tried it, she burned it).
We do not live in a Zweck-WG nor we want it to become one. We like to be in each other’s lives but we also understand and respect privacy and the individual time people need. But we do feel like we are a community and we are proud of it (as you might as well see in the long paragraph about ourselves). Furthermore, we like to be a community also with the other people living in the house (all students) so we normally have a shelve at the entrance of our flat with food we share. Some of us in the WG are active in the food sharing organization of Tuebingen, whenever there is much food to offer, we bring to share it in the household. Also, we like to have barbeques in our garden all together when the weather is nice.

Extra
The reason why this advertising is in English is because one of our flatmates is still learning German so for us it is important that whoever comes to live with us is also comfortable with the language.
The building in its entirety is a student house, so everyone living here needs to be a student. This is #leider a must, our landlord only allows students to live here. We are also currently only looking for men to live in our house since we will like to keep some type of balance and we already are three women.
Apart from that, we have a cleaning plan in the kitchen, since we are four people one needs to clean the common areas only once a month. We also share the price of some items of the house such as oil, salt, onions, flour, toilet paper, cleaning stuff….
Due to the corona pandemic we believe it is best to make the visits through Skype (pls let us know if you need to see the room in person) so that we can keep the normative distance, but we can still get to know each other.
Please, we would appreciate it if you would only text us if you can move in by the move in date. We can be flexible, of course, but also if you are willing to pay ;)
Last but not least, LGBTQ+ very welcome. (which should come without saying, basically, anyone is welcome).
