We are 14 international people in a large shared house each studying completely different subjects. Some are in their Bachelor's and others already in their PhD. (It is mandatory for our landlord that you also study). 14 people sounds a lot, but each of us makes mostly their own life, so you will end up only seeing the three people living on your floor plus other two from the shared kitchen.

Your room would be 13 sqm facing south-east (sun hits in the afternoon) and has a door to the side area of the garden, as well as a window. In the room there is a sink with a cupboard underneath. The room has parquet floor and it comes partially furnished with a mattress (although not the best one) with a bed frame (you will be able to choose whether black or white bedframe) and a wardrobe.

In the photos you can see how the previous tenant had the room (so you make an idea of what things fit in). The walls are currently painted as in those photos (light purple).

The house has a total of two kitchens, five shower cabins, a bathtub and three toilets. You would share the kitchen with other five people, and the toilet and a shower cabin with three.

We live in a quiet and green family neighbourhood. There is a student dorm nearby (Geigerle), which has a bar with occasional live music.

The house is located between Uni Tal and Uni Berg: to Morgenstelle it's a 20 minute walk uphill or five minutes by bus (there is a bus every 10 minutes), to Kliniken Tal it's seven minutes walking, and to Altstadt five minutes walking.

There are three different bus stops, each at most at five minutes walking from home, taking you on several routes (uphill to Morgenstelle, downhill to the Altstadt, or Hauptbanhof and elsewhere).

We have a bike and motorcycle parking area in front of the house that you can use freely, and there is always space to park cars in front of the house (although you need to pay about 120 € a year for the car parking).

An Edeka supermarket and several bakeries are right around the corner (five minute walk), and Rewe and Aldi are not far away either.

Each of us follows an independent life and we usually only meet in the kitchen when we coincide while cooking etc. So, as long as you do not put loud music and respect the common space rules, you are free to do whatever you like in your room. Still, we love the friendly environment we have in the common areas, as we enjoy the diversity of each other in laughs and understanding, with loyal support when somebody needs anything.

Now, for us, one of the most important things is that you keep your stuff in the common spaces in order and you respect the rules in the kitchen, toilet and shower, especially completing the cleaning routines! We had very bad experiences with some tenants in the past...

If you are an open-minded person that respects ---or ideally is part of--- the LGBTQ+ community, who appreciates a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, respects others' personal space and choices, together with the rules we have established for healthy coexistence, you are likely our new flatmate :D

The landlord requires a guarantor (parents or others, a scholarship certificate, part-time job contract etc.). Also, you will have to provide a certificate of acceptance or enrolment as a student of the University.

The room is available from 1st April 2026 and, a priori, can be rented unlimited as long as you are a student.
