I'm moving away from Berlin in May, so my apartment in the studenthouse Neon Wood will be free from June on (possibly also from middle of May on). Its suitable for students or Auszubildende (people who make an apprenticeship). To apply, a proof is needed (for example a certificate of enrolment). But this is the only thing you need, they dont ask for schufa (solicitar ahora) or stuff like that. If you take the room you make a good deal, because all the rooms in this price category are fully booked in the coming months (if you book an apartment on the neonwood website, prices start from 800 euros on and upwards). They take unfortunately a one-time handling fee of 200 Euros to make the contract. But on the bright side, in the 700 Euros rent everything is included, no additional costs. My contract lasts until end of September, but its possible to prolong it for half a year or for a year, if you're still a student or in a apprenticeship then.
I loved living in this room and in this studenthouse. It feels like living in a good hotel. Three things I especially like: Its on the third floor, so there is a lot of afternoon sun. Second, there is a lot of storage space, you have a big wardrobe, storage space over the kitchen and under the bed and more. So the apartment doesn't feel too small, even though its only 18 squaremeter. Third, Neon Wood has a nice community, over 500 students are living here. You can check it out on their website, there, you can also see the common spaces (they have f.e. a study area, a livingroom-like area with sofas, a gaming area and a fitnessstudio).
Perfectly located directly at U-Station and Tramstation Frankfurter Tor. This is close to the center, with a direct connection to Berlin Main Station in 20 minutes and 10 minutes to reach Alexanderplatz. You will be living at Warschauer Str. 6, in the middle of a lively and interesting neighbourhood. There are dozens of restaurants and cafés in close walking distance. Also, there are clubs like Berghain nearby.
The kitchen has a microwave and much storage space, so its easy to be well organized, even on little space. There are two tables one for studying and one for eating.
