About the room

Renting large room, 23 m2, with balcony, from 15.01.2021 – to 26.02.2021 (with the possibility to extend a bit longer) in Wedding Berlin. 400 euro warm rent. The room is furnished, which means that everything you need is already there: bed, wardrobe, mirrors (several) and a desk. You also have a fair-sized balcony attached to your room.

The room is free because the current occupier is away in Portugal until 2021. This means that you would be using her furniture. And she still has some of her stuff in the bedroom. But you definitely have enough storage for your own things.
WG life and the apartment

The WG consists of 3 people in total. There is 1 shared bathroom and kitchen with a large hallway. The flat is located on the 3rd floor with use of a small lift.

The WG is very chilled and can be quite social on occasion. Perhaps a wine together now and again and food too. Both of us are working full-time and have active social lives so sometimes the apartment can be quiet.
We have hosted a few film nights together, gone to bars, or attended other events in around the city. And we make an effort for each other’s birthdays and similar events.

The WG is international, one of us coming the UK and the other Hong Kong. We speak mainly English, but German is also spoken now and again.

The area
The area is very well connected. Close to u6, u9 and u8 as well as Sbhan Ringbahn. Penny and Lidl are both within 1 minutes’ walk – with other shops such as Rewe being located within walking distance too. There is also handful on nice bars, coffee shops and eating places in the area.
But let’s not carried away, this is Wedding, you won’t be seeing any tour buses nearby, and the area does have a reputation for being a bit rough.

House rules & chores
We have a biweekly cleaning plan that alternates. Meaning you will be responsible to do a full clean of the apartment (bathroom, kitchen, hallway) once every 6 weeks. However, we like to keep the social areas always clean and tidy. But don’t fear we’re not aggressive when it comes to cleaning. But dishes shouldn’t be left unwashed for days.
We do separate the rubbish and expect that you do the same. There is also a structure regarding the emptying of bins as to avoid 100s of glass bottles and tons of paper waste.
When it comes to noise, I guess it’s pretty much common sense. We both work so need our beauty sleep. No early hour drum or drinking sessions is appreciated. The walls are thin and noise can travel easily.

About the people living there
Jonathan, 26, from the UK works in marketing and translations. He is high-energy, fun and can be a bit hyper and too chatty. Before Rona joined the dance floor, he like often enjoyed the Berlin party scene and sometimes be spotted half-mortal on early morning public transport systems. Jonathan also leads a vegan lifestyle.

Marta, 28, from Hong Kong works as a photographer. Marta is a lot of fun, knows how to have a good laugh. She is also very social and often out and about with friends. She works a lot and sometimes needs to recharge her batteries at home. Also, an amazing cook mostly cooking vegan and vegetarian dishes.

What are we looking for?
A question like this is hard to answer. It’s more of a feeling. But just a nice, normal human being, that has respect for themselves, others and the WG would be nice. We don’t just want to have someone to fill the room and pay the bills, we hope that during your stay that we can be friends, share laughs, wine and so on. Oh and last but not least, we do want you to be financially stable or be employed.
