Hi, everyone! I am going to subrent my 18m2 room next year starting from January and till the end of March with a possibility of a slight extension. It is located in the city centre 2min from Josephsplatz and 15min from Hauptbahnhof on foot.
The room is fully furnished (with bed, two wardrobes, two bookshelves, two small fridges etc.). The kitchen and bathroom are shared, but they are being cleaned every weekday and supplied with necessities. Also, on the weekdays there are breakfasts included from 5 am to 9 am ;)
There are two internet networks (one of them was included initially and the other I introduced myself and pretty much satisfied :)
It is a dormitory (Caritas Jugendwohnheim), and so there is a requirement that a tenant has to be engaged in any educational activity (e.g. student, apprentice) and be under 25 years old. That's it :)
If you're interested or know anyone who is looking for accommodation pm me and I'll give you the details.
The Caritas Jugendwohnheim is located at Zieblandstr. 35, on a crossroad with Augustenstr. Near Josephsplatz subway station (just 2min away!).
The Augustenstrasse and the vicinity have a lot of hair style saloons (more than 10 for sure) just in 5min or less, several supermarkets are also 5min away (Edeka, two Netto stores, Lidl and more of Edeka :). Moreover, there are a lot of cafes and bars nearby (Josephina, St. Lucas, Wimmer, Alte Ofen, Pure Burrito and many, many more).
There is also a shared garden and a renovated bicycle cellar where you can keep your bike safe and sound). The trash dumps are just 1 min outside.
By and large, the dorm is a safe place with some small bonuses (incl. gym free for tenants, breakfasts in the morning etc.) and you get the location with all the nigh and day city life just outside of your house!
One important note, smoking inside the room is forbidden. I am non-smoker myself, and our apartment administration takes it certainly seriously.
Also, you have to be ENGAGED IN EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES and BE ABLE TO PROVE IT.
If you are planning to take the offer you have to consider that we are signing one totally formal contract with the dorm administration (mostly to inform them). But I am the one who continues to pay and bear all the responsibility.
I used to pay 600 Euros monthly, but the price was officially reduced to 470 as my contract lasts long and my reputation here is quite good :) Nevertheless, you are signing the contract with me (that is, subrent) and preferable way of payment is on my Deutsche Bank account. The price is mentioned above (and it includes all the furniture, kitchen ware etc., access to the gym, internet). You may also use my laser printer because I won't be able to take it with me anyway ;)
