There's a busstop around 2 minutes away from the apartment, the bus goes every 20 minutes. Furthermore there's Warschauer-Straße (U- and S-Bahn) and Ostkreuz (S-Bahn), each around 10 minutes of walking distance away.
Surrounding us is a rather quiet residential neighborhood with good shopping possibilities (Aldi and real ca. 15 minutes, LIDL ca. 10 minutes, VEGANZ + DM ca. 15 minutes, Späti ca. 5 minutes). Within 10 walking minutes you can reach the Simon-Dach quarter and by bike it's only 5 minutes to the other side of Spree to Kreuzberg (Schlesi).
Also club-wise the surroundings are well equipped with the RAW-area, the about blank, the Wilde Renate and the shuttle bus to Sisyphos. The Zukunft Bar (ca. 5 minutes by foot) has regular live music and in the associated small cinema there's movies.

The apartment is situated on ground level, unfortunately it faces north which causes the place to be pretty dark during wintertime.
So we'd advise you to better a decent amount of Vitamin D or bring a daylight lamp. If you're more of a winter depression person, we'd of course happily welcome you into our club - still the apartment might not be your thing.

Directly across the apartment there's a small public green space that -as a matter of principle- we handle like a yard.

Our shared language is English.
We're half omnivore and half vegetarian/vegan, so there will meat in the kitchen, but if you would like to have meat-free cooking utensils and fridge space, we can totally make that happen.
We enjoy smoking cigarettes in the kitchen and preferably you're fine with that, but it's not a dealbreaker if you are not.
Listening to music is a big part of our life, so we've got sound systems in the kitchen, the bathroom and in our rooms. Volume may vary. However, we strongly belief that opinions about the occasional Taylor Swift song should be voiced no matter what and that there's almost always a compromise to be found. This actually extends to everything from music to apartment cleanliness to irrational feelings about anything; we like open comminication and strongly dislike passive aggressiveness. This leads us to a potential source of conflict that's actually hard for us to compromise on: the door to the room in question opens to the kitchen and is not very sound proof. We will frequently have friends over and as you can imagine, that's not always quiet, so if you are a light sleeper this might not be the room for you.
Because of our big need for harmony we wish to have a common flat-share life, with joint activities and cozy evenings in the living/kitchen area. Therefore we come together once a week for 'flatmate-time' which includes anything from cooking dinner together to a day trip to an outlying part of Berlin. We don't want to force anything on anyone, but we are looking for someone who has the capacities to get to know us and include theirselves in the flat life we share.

We feel like in terms of the need for apartment cleanliness we're a little above the Berlin average, so it's important for us that common spaces are respected, that everybody cleans up after themselves and does common chores without it being a big thing.

Aside from that we want to mention particularly that our flat is no place for the mean -isms and any type of discrimination, here we want to encounter each other free from categories like sex, body, background, age, sexual orientation, etc. For us our apartment is a very important (emotional) shelter in which it e.g. has to be possible for flatmates to live their queer identities beyond sexist assaults.

We believe that it's the most beautiful to live conjointly when people make similar demands on living together.
We know that housing space is rare and partly overpriced, still our demand is not simply to provide living space, but to shape a conjoint living together. Therefore it's important to us that you make yourself conscious of your own demands and only apply for this apartment if most of our demands harmonize. We want an equal relation among us and consequently we under no circumstances want you to adjust to our wishes.

We put Friday the 24th aside for meeting people, so please include which times would work for you (between 3 and 10 pm).
