International Student on her Second Semester in Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, looking for a friendly place for my next semester :)

Hello! I am Idil from Turkey,

I have started my studies on October and right now I am staying in a very cute WG near Alexanderplatz. However, my contract was made for one semester only, which means I need to be looking for a new place starting from March-April, either a WG-zimmer or a dorm sublet. I have completed my studies on Foreign Language Education and now I am here to study British Studies in Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. I am a woman who has a deep interest in languages, art and travelling. Therefore, cultural exchange is one of the things I am looking forward to experience both in school or at home. Additionally, I also prefer living with people to living alone. I love knowing there are other lives going on between the same walls even if we are doing our own stuff in our separate rooms.

I also love seeing the atmosphere and everyday life of the countries I visit, while trying new cousines especially new vegan food which are quite limited in my country. (I am currently a vegetarian) The category of the accomodation, extra features, room size and gender of the flat sharers or hosts are not among my primary concerns. I would like to be in an undertanding environment in which we can communicate our wishes and thoughts freely. In conflicts, I would prefer transparency because everything we refrain from saying could be a bigger burden later. Although a furnished room would be a better opportunity for me at this time, I believe I could try and make it work if that is not the case. Also, I would need anmeldung because I am an international student :( Also, it has to be budget friendly with up to 500 Euros a month, because I am living on my blocked account at the moment. I would be fine with either a limited contract or an unlimited one, depending on your availabilities.

I can say I am a friendly and easy-going person when it comes to being a resident or a flatmate. I had shared a house with two friends during my bachelor's, which made me familiar with housework and technical issues that come with living without parents. These experiences have prepared me for further ones. The only criteria I am looking for is affordability and distance to the school at this point. My department is located in U Stadtmitte, so it would be great to find a place on the U2 or U6, but I could work with transfers if necessary. Although I will use public transport at first, I am hoping to get a bike later on, so the cycling distance will be important to me.
