Hey there! As I'll be away on a research expedition for three months, I'm renting out my room temporarily. It is located on the mezzanine floor of an old 4-story town house with communal toilets. Due to the high ceilings, a loft was installed by one of the previous tenants. This provides a bisection in the room, making the lower level a kitchen/living room and the upper a study/bedroom. On the lower level, I have a couch and dining table. Should you need more sitting arrangement, I also have five foldable benches which you can use. The kitchenette, while compact, comes with a small refrigerator and two hobs, and is more than enough for you to prepare your meals. The upper level is where I have my work desk and bed. There's a 32" television connected via HDMI that I use as my external monitor. It'd be great if you have your own bedsheets/pillow casing because my current one has a big hole in it, so I'm not gonna be letting you use that trash :p Haha!
The house is located beside Bismarckstraße. On foot, you can reach the 25 bus stop in 5 minutes. Alternatively, you could walk to the Viertel in 10 and catch the 2/3/10 S-Bahns. If you don't have a bike but know how to cycle, I'd be happy to lend you my bike. With it, transportation becomes a breeze, literally :p
There's a Netto along Bismarckstraße that you can reach in 5 minutes but if you're feeling classy, you can also visit the Rewe or Alnatura in the Viertel. If you've read this far, write 'isana' in your reply.
On our floor, you'd be sharing the "apartment" with Annika and Nils. They are a friendly and social bunch and most of our meetings are in the common toilet for reasons I can only put down to fate. The beauty of this accommodation is-if by any chance you're craving even more social interaction-the four "apartment" floors behave like one unit. So we basically bump into each other frequently in the corridors and if the weather is good, have BBQs together on the patio.
I'm first and foremost a scientist at heart, so I'm really not the best at describing my place. Pictures speak a thousand words, so I hope the pictures will serve as a better representation of the hard features of this place. If you've read this far, write 'maths' in your reply. However, I'm no photographer either :p so I'd say let's arrange a visit. That way, you can see this place for yourself :p
Oh, and you know what's really nice about this place too? The toilet cleaning schedule. Yes, we take turns cleaning the toilet :) So don't worry okay? You'd be in good hands. Also, feel free to ask if you've any questions, I wrote this on short notice!
