The room is around 11 m2. It is under the roof with beautiful wooden beams. It gets daylight all year, and has views over the Rotlaubpark and a tall birch tree in front. It is pretty cozy in the winter and doesn't get too hot in summer as it is north facing.
The room comes with some furniture (which you could remove and replace with yours, apart from a built-in wardrobe). It even has the coolest thing ever: your own sink!! Adding that the WG shower and toilet are in separate rooms, forget about the morning bathroom queue!
The kitchen is fully equipped (did you ever have a professional pizza oven? We do ;) and with awesome views over the rooftops to the city center and Schlossberg.
Location, Location, Location!
The house is on a nice street Rotlaubstrasse in the green Herdern area, between the Rotlaubpark and the (according to many locals) most beautiful street in Freiburg: Gießenstraße with its channel and colourful houses - an everyday delight!
It is placed between Tennenbacher and Hauptstr Tram stops, which are 4-5 mins away each!
You can get walking to:
- Forest (Schlossberg forest): ~10 mins
- Penny shop, bakery: 1 min
- Institutsviertel: 5 mins
- Doenner shop, Edeka: 3-4 mins
- Europaplatz, Stadtgarten: 8 mins
Luis, the brain of the WG, is moving out - afterwards it will be Kourosh, Johanna, Hernan and you (YES YOU!?).
We are not a Zweck WG and we like to spend time together, but we also respect when people want to spend their time otherwise.
Johanna (29) is a real traveler at the moment due to her job and her diamond boyfriend who lives in the far away land of Bavaria/Bayern. When she's not traveling she delights everyone with lavishing flower arrangements and groceries from the local farmers market. Also since she moved in she is seriously trying to get everybody to go to Bingo night at the Irish Pub, but wasn't successful yet.
Hernan (34) is doing a PhD in forest sciences (which means he spends more time in front of the computer than actually hugging trees). He likes the flat so much that he returned here after spending some years in France. He wants us to join him in karaoke nights (no singing skills required).
Kourosh (32) lives here as well! He studies computer science and works part time as a data scientist! (Beware: If you search for the most boring person job-wise, data scientist/data analytics are among them! You had been warned!)
We are not a party WG, but we have friends who come around often. We are usually not loud and respect personal times, but it is important that you feel comfortable with people around. Of course you will be very welcome to join whenever you want, or to invite your own friends :)
Write to us and tell us about yourself and say what your expectations are and why you would like to live with us. The more we get to know about you, the more likely we'll invite you to meeting us =)
***Important***
The room is available from the beginning of September. We'll allocate time for the (in-person) castings is between 3-14th of July, in the evenings after 18h30.
(Note: we might review your message in the last week of June, in case we don't answer your request inmediately while working ;)
Some extra points:
-Given that we don’t have a balcony, if you’re someone who smokes regularly at home, we probably won’t fit very well.
-A longer period of stay is desired by us and our landlord would want someone who is planning to stay for at least a year.
-We speak German on various levels, from pretty good to "Ich bin eine Gurke". But the working language of the WG is English, so it's important that you feel alright communicating in English.
- Animal pets are not allowed, but plants and rock pets are warmly welcomed.
- We want to keep the gender balance/diversity, so we might not choose another man.
