While I am away on vacation to India, I am subletting my room. It is part of a shared flat in the student dormitory Kellnerweg. It is on the ground floor and has five large windows to nearly all sides. So plenty of light. Also, there is a nice garden space to relax outside of the room.
The room is ca. 22 square metres and is made from a rectangular main area to which a smaller half-circle area is connected. This way, the room can easily be split into two distinct areas using furniture. The flat has two floors, the ground floor has a toilet & bathroom and one of the rooms (which will potentially be yours) and the top one has a kitchen and the room of your potential flatmate (Max). The kitchen and the small bathroom are shared by both tenants.
The kitchen has a stove/cooker, an oven and a fridge. In the dormitory, there is a laundry room with several washing machines and dryers for the tenants. Wi-Fi is also provided and included in the rent. A cellar for bicycles is just next door.
The dormitory is located on the North campus, right between the Lunchbox-Mensa and the Primate Centre. As this dorm is only for students, the neighborhood is very lively. There are many social events and gatherings that can be attended in order to socialise. Most Wednesdays, the Kellnerweg bar opens at 9:30!
The nearest bus stop is Kellnerweg, busses 21, 22 and 23 have stops right in front of the dormitory close to the lunch box. It takes about 15-20 minutes to the city centre. By bike, you are just as fast. Other bus stops are also within the walking distance.
Supermarkets can be reached within 10 minutes by bike. The same goes for post offices and fast food restaurants. Around Kellnerweg, there are nice fields and forest areas which are beautiful to take a walk or for run. The experimental and forest botanical gardens are very nearby.
You will be living together with Max, who is a very nice and considerate master's student studying literature. Max plays instruments, especially guitar and keyboard. Max is very friendly. We often cook together or eat together and play a game of Chess. Max is very tidy and clean. Living with him is very easy.
Conversation with Max is easy in German and English. Max can handle a bit of Danish as well!
Miscellaneous
Since the flat belongs to the Studentenwerk Göttingen, you must be enrolled with one of the universities of Göttingen to be able to rent the room (Georg-August Universität, HAWK etc.).
As I am leaving for a short term, I will keep all of my furniture in the flat as in the pictures. So you would therefore be renting a furnished room.
Please note: The sublet will be limited to the timespan of April to mid-May. We are looking forward to your application.
We look forward to hearing from you!
Cheers,
Sharath and Max
