Furnished Room for Rent in Schlump (Short-time Period - 6 months)

The location couldn't be better! The flat is super central, located 3 minutes by foot from U2/U3 Schlump. There's a bus in front of the building heading straight to Altona. S bahn Sternschanze is 12 minutes away by foot. Getting around the city with public transport or bike is super convenient. On sunny days, you can walk all over the city through connecting parks only - we live right next to Schanzenpark; Planten und Bloomen is not far; and neither is Große Wallanlagen.

Schanze offers plenty of options for drinks and dinner and clubbing, and getting to Altona for going out is pretty quick too. Zaina already has her favourite smoking bar/Eckkneipe in Schanze and Max is keen on going for German bowling with the wg at another bar nearby.

Your flatmates will be Zaina, Max, Niko and Philipp.

Zaina is 29 years old, comes from Pakistan, and works in financing renewable energy. She finds the energy for a good party or rave every couple of months, but is always up for a movie, concert, or afterwork drinks. She moved to Hamburg in July, loves the city so far (despite the horrible climate), and is keen to form new friendships within and outside the wg. At home, Zaina loves to cook communal meals (mainly delicious Pakistani food) together, share a smoke break, and play the occasional boardgame. When you drink some red wine with Zaina, conversations can get political quickly, as she's interested in social justice, sustainability, politics, and science.

Max is 30 years old and is doing his PhD in Sociology and doing research on digitalisation ata University. He is our social science expert, broadly interested in all kinds of socio-political topics. He loves a glass of good French wine and is up for all sorts of cultural events.

Nik is working as a journalist writing on more or less nerdy things. He dropped his new year‘s resolution of running a marathon halfway into January and focusses on kickstarting his dj career instead, playing fast and occasionally groovy records.

Philipp is 28 years old and studied educational sciences. He works at a charitable foundation funded the city's biggest soccer club (HSV) and on weekends at a bar in the Schanze. He takes interest in many kinds of sports and politics. Coffee, cigarettes and running keep him going. Max joins him for his runs some times and is always impressed with his speed.

On one evening or another, there is music playing in the kitchen, drinks being mixed or poured, and a nice warm meal on the stove for everyone to share. Philipp lights up a cigarette, Zaina smokes something too, and Max reminds us he has recently quit smoking. Maybe we whip out some card games after dinner, or - if we aren't too cozy already - head out to Schanze for a nightcap. Plans are frequently made for going clubbing together, but everyone hasn't been to a party together yet (partially because our music tastes range from punk rock to techno, with little overlap). More likely we will just have tasty cocktails and talk about silly things and serious things. With our diverse backgrounds, conversations never get boring!

Our ideal roommate would be someone who values communal living, has lived in a flatshare before, enjoys mingling with their flatmates, and is a responsible and non-fussy person. We are looking for someone who values and nurtures the benefits of living together - the company, the support, and the fun times. Of course, everyone also values their me-time, and there is no pressure if someone just needs to read or watch tv on their couch all evening.
