Das freie Zimmer unserer schönen 5er WG ist 19m² groß. Es hat Teppichboden, die Decke ist abgehangen und es gibt viele Steckdosen, sowie einen Telefon- und Internetanschluss. Die Fenster sind Richtung Westen gerichtet, wodurch das Zimmer lichtdurchflutet ist, aber im Sommer trotzdem angenehm kühl bleibt. Das Zimmer ist unmöbliert. Möbel kann man sich aber bei Jysk, direkt um die Ecke oder bei Ikea unkompliziert besorgen.
Die restliche Wohnung besteht aus vier weiteren WG-Zimmern, einem Badezimmer, wobei Dusche und WC in getrennten Räumen sind, einem großen Flur und einer zweigeteilten Wohnküche mit vielen Sitzgelegenheiten und auch einer Couch. Hier kann man kochen, essen und spielen und häufig entstehen nette Gespräche unter den Mitbewohnern.
Die Wohnung liegt im Erdgeschoss eines Altbaus und hat deswegen schöne, hohe Decken. Eine Etage über uns ist eine kleine Firma und ansonsten gibt es bloß noch weitere Studenten-WGs. Im Erdgeschoss gibt es eine abschließbare Waschküche mit Waschmaschine und Trockner, in der gerne auch Fahrräder untergestellt werden können.

The free room in our beautiful 5-person shared flat is 19m² in size. It has a carpeted floor, the ceiling is suspended and there are plenty of sockets, as well as a telephone and internet connection. The windows face west, so the room is flooded with light, but remains pleasantly cool in summer. The room is unfurnished. However, you can easily get furniture at Jysk, just around the corner or at Ikea.
The rest of the apartment consists of four other shared rooms, a bathroom, with shower and toilet in separate rooms, a large hallway and a two-part kitchen-cum-living room with plenty of seating and a couch. Here you can cook, eat and play, and nice conversations often arise between the flatmates.
The apartment is on the first floor of an old building and therefore has beautiful, high ceilings. There is a small company on the floor above us and otherwise there are only other student flatshares. There is a lockable laundry room with washing machine and dryer on the first floor, where bicycles can also be stored.

Die Adresse ist die Schwanitzstraße. Damit liegt die WG mitten in der Ilmenauer Innenstadt. Zum Kaufland läuft man fünf Minuten, zu Nahkauf gerade mal eine. Die Schwanitzstraße kann mit dem Auto erreicht werden, die angrenzende Querstraße ist eine Fußgängerzone, wo sich in Fußnähe noch viele weitere Geschäfte befinden. Zur Uni ist man zu Fuß unter 20 Minuten unterwegs, mit dem Fahrrad geht es deutlich schneller.

The address is Schwanitzstraße. This means that the shared flat is right in the center of Ilmenau. It's a five-minute walk to Kaufland and just one minute to Nahkauf. Schwanitzstraße can be reached by car, the adjacent cross street is a pedestrian zone with many other stores within walking distance. It takes less than 20 minutes to walk to the university, but it's much quicker by bike.

Zusammenleben wirst du hier mit einem Raul (AMW, 26), Lukas (AMW, 19) und Jakob (II, 23) die allesamt sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit sind, wenn es darum geht, sich in das Ilmenauer Studentenleben einzufinden. Es werden gerne gemeinsame WG-Abende veranstaltet, Spiele gespielt, gekocht oder auch mal was getrunken und ein bisschen gefeiert, ansonsten begegnet man sich auch tagsüber in der Küche und quatscht ein bisschen während dem Kochen und Essen.
Wenn einem nicht danach ist, kann man sich aber auch gut im Zimmer zurückziehen und wird nicht gestört.
Jeder der Bewohner hat sein eigenes Kühlschrankfach, Vorratsfach und es gibt einen Putzplan.

You'll be living with Raul (AMW, 26), Lukas (AMW, 19) and Jakob (II, 23), who are all very friendly and helpful when it comes to settling into student life in Ilmenau. They like to organize shared evenings, play games, cook or have a drink and celebrate a bit, otherwise you can also meet in the kitchen during the day and chat a bit while cooking and eating.
If you don't feel like it, you can also retreat to your room and not be disturbed.
Each resident has their own fridge compartment, storage compartment and there is a cleaning schedule.
