The apartment is a 3 bedroom apartment on the second floor of an old and quirky but nice green building :) It comes with 2 bathrooms, a kitchen and a living room. One of the bathrooms is accessible through the living room and the other is next to the kitchen. Both bathrooms have a toilet and shower, there is a bathtub in the bathroom next to the kitchen, you will most likely be sharing that one with Éloïse unless you prefer the other bathroom!
All bedrooms are 17m² with one window. Your bedroom has a view of the garden and is situated between the kitchen and living room. Across from your bedroom is Éloïse’s bedroom.
The room is square and spacious with a few built-in shelves in the walls on either side of the window.
The walls in the apartment are a bit thin so we have to be careful with noise for the sake of each other at night but we had a door put in for the kitchen and it definitely helps a lot with the noise when you want to cook at night.
The apartment is right next to the St. Michaeliskirche and 10min from Am Sande by foot. We are located right next to Kalkberg, and 8min by foot from the big Rewe in the opposite direction from Am Sande. The street leads straight to the center and is pretty quiet near us but there is the occasional passerby or group of people going to and from Salon Hansen which is just 3min by foot from the apartment (we can’t hear any music from here though!). On the way to the center there’s the smaller Rewe and a bunch of bakeries and stores, all 5min away by foot.
Leuphana university is approximately 30min away by foot, and 10min by bike. There’s the bus at Am Sande (5011, 5600, 5012, 5020, 5201) and at Wallstraße (5011, 5020) that take you directly to Leuphana in 8min (+10min walk to get to the stop).
The train station is about 20min by foot and 7min by bike. You can also take the bus from Am Graalwall (3min away by foot) or Neue Sülze stop (5min away by foot) to get there (500, 5013).
The neighborhood is really pretty, all old buildings, and very chill, which is ideal considering how close we are to the center! There’s even a bar 1min away from the apartment.
Hi! I’m Éloïse, I’m a half French half Czech 20 year old in my 4th semester of GESS (Global Environmental and Sustainability Sciences) at Leuphana university. I speak French, Italian, Czech and English fluently, and have been learning Korean for two years almost. I love music, dancing, fashion, crochet and reading as well as movies. I like to stay in as well as go out, it depends on the days! I have a slight (big) obsession with kdramas and anything with cinnamon in it. When I’m at home, I like spending time with Lina as well as just chilling in my bedroom, if I’m not cooking or having my own personal concert in the shower.
Hi, I’m Lina, I’m 25 years old and I’m from Bogotá, Colombia. I’m currently in my 4th semester of the Master’s in Sustainability Science. I also work as a student assistant for the Sustainability faculty at Uni. I speak Spanish, English, French and German ( still learning and struggling). I love music, dancing, hanging out with friends and watching every movie in the world. I also like having some alone moments and self care days.
At home, I like hanging out with Eloise (as she mentioned we usually do movie nights). I also like hanging out in the living room and playing some nice tunes.
Our home is very important to us and after uni or work, we usually want to relax and enjoy a calm environment, therefore we are looking for someone who also prefers a quiet atmosphere. We are fond of doing pre drinking in our place but we don’t throw big parties. We are open to visitors, but we like communicating about it beforehand and keeping the quiet atmosphere.
Here are some important things in our home:
-When using the kitchen, we all remember that we share it and clean up afterward as we would like it ourselves. If something is forgotten in the stress, that’s okay, it happens (you should see us during exam period) but we try to keep things tidy and clean.
-We share cleaning tasks and rotate every week (kitchen, sweep & mop floors, trash and recycling), we usually each clean our own bathroom. We are each responsible for the weekly task and usually do it on Sundays but you can do it whenever you have the time as long as it is properly done.
-The washing machine is in the kitchen and shakes a lot when on, so we don’t use it past 5-6pm so as to not bother neighbors. This applies for everyone.
-The living room is for everyone to use, you can have people over or just chill in it, just as long as you tidy up afterwards!
-We like addressing problems quickly, directly and in an open and understating manner. We live together and want everyone to feel welcomed and comfortable.
-Communication is key and a powerful tool for harmony.
