Farm-WG sucht Zuwachs

Unser Haus liegt auf einem Grundstück zu dem insgesamt drei Wohnhäuser, einige Koppeln und Tiergehege gehören. Außer uns Menschen wohnen hier eine Menge Hühner, unsere Pflichtbewusste Hofhündin, ein Rudel Katzen, drei Pferde im Ruhestand und zwei junge Ziegen. Die ebenso zum Hof gehörenden Schafe verteilen sich auf einigen Wiesen rund um Potsdam, und sind zum Mähen des Grundstücks immer wieder zu Besuch.

Der Hof liegt auf der Insel Töplitz direkt an einem der Havelseen. Der Bus fährt in 15 Minuten zum Bahnhof Golm (Science Park und Unistandort Golm, sowie Möglichkeit zum Umstieg nach Potsdam und Berlin) und in 20 Minuten zum Bahnhof Werder (Umstieg in den schnellen RE nach Potsdam und Berlin). Mit dem Fahrrad fährt man sowohl nach Werder, wie auch nach Golm, ca. sieben Kilometer.
Auf der Insel gibt es einen kleinen Supermarkt für das Nötigste, einen kleinen Bioladen, der zweimal die Woche öffnet, einen Trödelladen, in dem man alles mögliche bekommt und einen Milchbauern, der einmal die Woche direkt vom Hof Milchprodukte verkauft. Zur richtigen Jahreszeit bekommt man außerdem vielerorts Gemüse aus den Gärten der Nachbarn zu kaufen. Eier gibt es direkt aus dem Hühnerstall ;)

Die Insel hat für Naturfreunde mit viel Wasser und Moorlandschaften echt einiges zu bieten. Wer auf Lagerfeuerabende am Wasser oder Wassersport steht, wird hier im Sommer definitiv auf seine Kosten kommen.

Our house is located on a plot of land to which belong a total of three residential houses, some paddocks and animal enclosures. In addition to us people live here a lot of chickens, our dutiful dog, a pack of cats, three retired horses and two young goats. The sheep, which also belong to the farm, are spread out on some meadows around Potsdam, and are always visiting to mow the property.

The farm is located on the island of Toeplitz directly on one of the Havel lakes. The bus takes 15 minutes to the train station Golm (Science Park and University Golm, as well as the possibility to change to Potsdam and Berlin) and 20 minutes to the train station Werder (change to the fast RE to Potsdam and Berlin). By bike it takes you 7 kilometers to get to Werder as well as to Golm.
On the island there is a small supermarket for the essentials, a small organic food store that opens twice a week, a junk store where you can get all sorts of things and a dairy farmer who sells dairy products directly from the farm once a week. At the right time of year, you can also buy vegetables from the neighbors' gardens in many places. Eggs are available directly from the henhouse ;)

The island has a lot to offer for nature lovers with lots of water and moorland. If you like campfire evenings by the water or water sports, you will definitely get your money's worth here in summer.

Wir, das sind bisher Demi (25) und Jule (30) sind auf der Suche nach passender Vervollständigung für unsere recht junge WG.

Demi (25) ist Atmosphärenphysiker-Doktorand in Berlin.
Was Demi mag: Natur, Spielen (Theater, Gesellschaftsspiele), Regen, Erbsen.
Was Demi nicht mag: Blauschimmelkäse.

Jule (30) ist Masterstudientin im Fachbereich Ecology, Evolution und Conservation.
Was Jule mag: Natur, Tiere, Musik (Punk, Psytrance, DnB, Indi + was gerade reinläuft), Feuer (und damit jonglieren), Festivals, die Welt entdecken
Was Jule nicht mag: Nazis, Erbsen, Unaufrichtigkeit, zu viel laut und zu viel leise.

Wir sind eine eher außergewöhnliche WG. Durch das Farm-Leben haben wir sehr viel Platz um uns kreativ und handwerklich zu verausgaben. Der Ort hier hat echt viel Potenzial, wenn man bereit ist Arbeit rein zustecken. Aktuell hindert uns beide daran in der Regel nur unsere verfügbare Zeit. Da mehr Schultern auch mehr coole Projekte stemmen können, würden wir uns freuen, wenn unsere neuen Mitbewohner*innen auch Motivation für das ein oder andere gemeinsame Projekt mitbringen.

Unter der Woche sehen wir uns meistens nur spontan zum Frühstück und/oder Abendessen. Das ist für uns bisher auch in Ordnung so und rührt daher, dass wir beide einen vollen Alltag neben der WG haben. Auch wenn wir beide im Homeoffice sind, sind wir über Tag mit Uni/Arbeit beschäftigt, wodurch es dann meistens recht ruhig im Haus ist. Außerhalb der Arbeitszeit finden wir uns dann aber doch recht häufig in der Küche zusammen, um zu diskutieren, planen, philosophieren, kochen oder spielen. Wir finden gemeinsame Zeit ebenso wichtig, wie ungestört seine Ruhe zu haben und hoffen dass unsere neuen Mitbewohnis das WG-Leben bereichern. Da auch wir beide erst im Oktober 2021 hier eingezogen sind, ist da auch noch eine Menge Freiraum für neue Dynamiken und neuen Input durch andere Menschen, auf den wir uns auch freuen.

Neben unserem privaten Raum, der noch im entstehen ist, gibt es auch noch Arbeiten auf dem gemeinsamen Teil des Hofes. So kümmern wir uns zum Beispiel teilweise mit um die Versorgung der Tiere und haben dafür täglich frische Eier. Sich daran zu beteiligen ist zwar kein Muss aber da man hier zwangsläufig mit Tieren in Kontakt kommt, sollte da eine gewisse Sympathie da sein. Unsere Katzendame wohnte bereits vor uns in unserer WG und darf hier deshalb auch frei ein und aus gehen. Auf den Tisch darf sie normalerweise nicht. ;)

Neben unserem Haus gibt es auf dem Hof 3 weitere Wohneinheiten. In dem Haus direkt nebenan leben unsere Vermieter und deren Baby (35, 32, 3 Monate alt). Direkt an deren Haus angeschlossen entsteht gerade ein Neubau der voraussichtlich im Laufe des Jahres von Freunden bezogen wird. Etwas weiter entfernt davon hat die Mutter unseres Vermieters ihr Haus mit eigenem Garten. Wir leben alle in gutem Miteinander und Austausch, haben aber auch ganz klar getrennte Bereiche, in denen man auf einander Rücksicht nimmt.

We, so far Demi (25) and Jule (30) are looking for suitable completion for our quite young WG.

Demi (25) is an atmospheric physicist doctoral student in Berlin.
What Demi likes: nature, playing (theater, board games), rain, peas.
What Demi doesn't like: blue cheese.

Jule (30) is a master's student in Ecology, Evolution and Conservation.
What Jule likes: nature, animals, music (punk, psytrance, DnB, Indi + whatever fits the moment), fire (and juggling it), festivals, discovering the world.
What Jule doesn't like: Nazis, peas, insincerity, too much loud and too much quiet.

We are a rather unusual WG. Because of the farm-life we have a lot of space to be creative and crafty. This place has a lot of potential if you are willing to put in the work. Currently, the only thing that usually prevents us both from doing that is our available time. Since more shoulders can handle more cool projects, we would be happy if our new roommates would also bring motivation for one or the other joint project.

During the week we usually only see each other spontaneously for breakfast and/or dinner. This is fine for us so far and is due to the fact that we both have a busy everyday life besides the WG. Even if we are both in the home office, we are busy with university/work during the day, so it is usually quite quiet in the house. Outside of work, however, we often get together in the kitchen to discuss, plan, philosophize, cook or play games. We find time together just as important as having undisturbed privacy and hope that our new roommates will enrich the WG life. Since we both also just moved in here in October 2021, there is also a lot of room for new dynamics and new input from other people, which we are also looking forward to.

In addition to our private space, which is still being created, there is also work to be done on the shared part of the farm. For example, we partially help take care of the animals and have fresh eggs every day in return. To participate in it is not a must but since you inevitably come into contact with animals here, there should be a certain sympathy. Our cat lady already lived in our shared apartment before us and is therefore allowed to go in and out freely. Normally she is not allowed on the table ;)

Beside our house there are 3 other living units on the farm. In the house right next door live our landlords and their baby (35, 32, 3 months old). Directly attached to their house a new building is under construction which will probably be occupied by friends in the course of the year. A little further away, our landlord's mother has her house with her own garden. We all live in good cooperation and exchange, but we also have clearly separated areas where we take care of each other.

Für einen Kühlschrank den wir Ende 2021 für die WG angeschafft haben, würden wir uns über eine Ablöse von 25 € pro bezogenem Zimmer freuen.

For a refrigerator that we have purchased at the end of 2021 for the WG, we would be happy about a redemption of 25 € per occupied room.

We are open to all ideas, views and ideologies, as long as they do not hurt, discriminate, restrict or put others in danger.
