Hello everyone,
I'm renting my room in a shared flat from late February/March until June 30th, since I'll be on erasmus. You'll be living with my roommates (male, 26 & 28 years old. I am a woman, so on a regular basis its a mixed apartment. All genders welcome) in the 2nd district of Vienna, close to Praterstern, as well as to "Donauinsel". The metro station (U1 Vorgartenstraße) is only 1 min away.
WU (The university for economics and business) is in walking distance (10-15min) and all other universities are about 20 mins away by public transport.
The Room:
Its a 22 square meters room (pictures below) with windows facing the road. Since it's a high traffic road, some noise cannot be avoided. The room itself would be fully equipped (Bed, wardrobe, desk, sofa etc.). All personal items will of course be removed before you move in :)
The rent would be 380 per month, as well as 60€ for electricity and gas, as well as 13€ Internet/month.
(Total: 445€)
About the flat:
The flat is on the fourth floor, but there is a lift and has a total of 85m^2.
The flat is divided into 3 separately accessible rooms, bathroom, kitchen, separate WC and a spacious anteroom.
The kitchen is quite large and there is a gas cooker for cooking.
As I have already lived here in a shared flat and we were allowed to keep some things from the original owner, almost everything is available - which means you don't have to worry about additional expenses for washing machine, hoover, crockery, etc.
As you can see from the picture of the bathroom, this flat has been around for quite a long time and has quite a grandmotherly charm in certain respects.
However, the flat was renovated 3 years ago and all the important parts have been renewed.
We have all the important supermarkets and drug stores in walking distance (most of them are 2-5mins away), as well as an actual market (Vorgartenmarkt if you want to look it up), which also has nice cafes and restaurants.
The Vorgartenstraße U1 underground station is also less than a minute's walk away.
It takes about 7 minutes to walk to Praterstern and about 8-10 minutes to the U2 station Messe Prater, and there are also a few buses nearby.
So you can get to the city centre in about 10 minutes and most universities and universities of applied sciences are also easy to reach in under half an hour.
As mentioned above, you are not far from the Danube and the Prater is also very close if you like walking or need some nature.
