The rooftop apartment has about 130m² on two floors with 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, a sunny living room and a huge private rooftop terrace (70qm) with a view over Vienna (which you can enjoy at our panorama bar). Your room is on the first floor of the flat (3rd floor of the building. No elevator, free fitness training!). It's fully furnished with a loft bed, a desk, a clothes rail, shelf etc. You'll share the downstairs bathroom with Georg. We can also provide bedsheets and towels if you need them.
In summer it is the coolest room in the whole flat and everybody else is jealous :D The room is not super big but the loft bed gives a lot of extra space. Plus the common areas are big and of course you can use the whole space.
The apartment is in a central but quiet neighbourhood. You can even hear the birds and the neighbour's chicken!
the tram (52, 60) is right in front of the house; you can get everywhere easily and fast from here.
We live close to the big train station Westbahnhof (7 min walking distance or 2 tram stops) where you have U6 & U3, a lot of trams (5, 6, 9, 18, 49), busses and of course trains :-). There is another metro stop even closer (Gumpendorfer Straße - 5 min walking distance), so you can move around the city easily and quickly.
There are nice shops, bakeries, restaurants and bars around, and the famous castle Schönbrunn with its beautiful park is also close
We are Johanna (28), Georg (29) and Maga (30). What we all have in common is that we are all from Upper Austria, grew up in big families and we travel a lot due to our jobs which we are passionate about.
Johanna is a professional singer specialized in Early Music (yeah, that's a real thing). As she grew up in a mill (same as Georg btw), she combines crazy stuff like cutting wood while singing opera. If you wanna see what the hell that looks like, check out soprano_at_work on Instagram. She just came back from a few opera projects she had outside of Vienna (Salzburger Festspiele for example) and will mainly work in Vienna and Upper Austria now.
Georg is a tour manager for various bands so he's on the road a lot. When he's at home he loves cooking and he likes to cooks for everyone then. He is an expert on traditional Austrian dishes, so expect good food! The deal is: he cooks, we eat :D His uncle has a bakery, that's why we always have a freezer full of bread (and other stuff because Georg loves to freeze stuff xD). Especially during the weekends he's at festivals & concerts, so usually you'll only meet him at home a few days a week. Occasionally, when he's bored he works as a coffin bearer, too.
Maga (Margarita) is a German teacher and works either in Vienna or somewhere else in the world. She just came back from working in India followed by a period on cruise ships. During the winter she will work in Vienna, going back on board next year. She lived and worked in Rome, Berlin, Mexico and India so far and collects clothes, earrings and music from all these places. She would love to have some party company and is always in for crazy activities and hangouts!!
Hopefully we will all spend more time at home during the winter and there will be dinner parties, movie nights (there is a projector in the living room) or we just hang out in the living room. Current project: We want to redecorate the terrace and need your help! :-)
There's both lively and quiet times in this house and everybody can get their space and alone time, of course. Sometimes we'll have (sleepover) guests (friends, family, Couchsurfing, ...) and sometimes you will have the whole flat to yourself, especially during the weekends.
CLEANING: clean and caring people only please!! We are a lot of people and everybody wants to use the kitchen 🙏 IMPORTANT rule is: Everybody cleans up after themselves! Please keep everything tidy, don't leave your dishes and clean right away after cooking/eating (there is a dishwasher). We give the flat a cleaning every week (everybody does a part).
The rent is all in - it includes everything you need (also wifi) and we have a dishwasher, steam cooker, washing machine, printer, piano, beamer ...).
