It is part of a beautiful residential building. The room, though small, is nice and bright and gets plenty of morning sun; it has a large window and nice herringbone parquet. It has a high bed, so there is actually plenty of room.
The apartment itself has approx. 150m2, 5 rooms that are separately accessible, a cozy kitchen with a corner seat and everything your heart might desire (including a dishwasher). There is a shared bathroom with a washing machine and a toilet.
In general, the apartment and the whole building have a very nice Altbau-flair and a cozy courtyard where you could have a beer or read a book.
The apartment is in the 17th district quite close to the Gürtel, so it's super well connected but it's not too loud around here!
There is an Interspar, a Hofer and a pharmacy just around the corner. There are also numerous snack bars and restaurants within walking distance. You will need about 4 minutes to get to the U6 Alserstraße and to the 43 tram. By bike you can get almost everywhere in no more than 30 minutes. The beautiful Yppenplatz is also super close (5 min) and you will find a lot of cute cafés there. At the Brunnenmarkt (which is at the Yppenplatz) you can get fresh fruits and vegetables every day :)
For students: The University of Vienna and the Boku are also very close and easy to reach.
We are 5 people in the flat, students as well as working people all between 23 and 30. I (Sasha) will be moving to Norway in December. So you will be living with: Arzu from the States, 23, doing her masters in Cognitive Science. Cecelia from Kenya, 26, physicist working at IST. Ema(30) from Slovenia is a cognitive science researcher studying dreams. Last but not least there is Nadja from Slovenia; she is also 30 and works in the film restoration at the Austrian Film Museum.
We all get along very well and enjoy spending time together. We like to share personal stuff and to talk about the issues that move us and the world we live in. We also do things together outside the apartment sometimes (occasionally party together, go to concerts, play volleyball, cycle, etc.). Other than that we like to get together in our cozy kitchen to cook, or sometimes watch a movie together, mostly in Nadja's room with the huge couch. Overall, it's a very nice mix of mutual interest and respect. We would love to welcome somebody who is open-minded, active, and genuinely interested in living together! By the way, we often speak English at home, since Nadja, Ema and Sasha do not speak German.
If this sounds like something you have been looking for, leave us a few lines about yourself and we will be very happy to get to know you!
It would also be great if you could contact us in English, since we do not speak German :)
Also, since most of us are already in their masters or working, we would like to live with a person
who is in a similar situation.
