The room:

Start date: 1 June
Price: CHF 1100 per Month, including Internet, electricity, water, heat, and a cleaning team that comes once a week.
The house:
It’s a big house-- 4 floors including the basement. The kitchen is well-equipped with a dishwasher, microwave, and even a pizza oven, among other things. We have two washing machines and a dryer in the basement. There is also a small backyard with a covered hangout area and a grill. A parking spot in our driveway is available for rent. Once a week, a cleaning team comes to clean the common areas (kitchen, bathrooms, living room, garden, etc).

Das Haus:
Das Haus ist sehr groß (4-stöckig inkl. Keller, 3 Badezimmer + Gäste-WC). Die Küche ist gut ausgestattet, u.a. mit Spülmaschine, Mikrowelle, Backofen und sogar Pizzaofen! Im Keller haben wir zwei Waschmaschinen und einen Trockner. Einen kleinen Garten mit überdachtem Sitzplatz und Grill gibt es auch. Ein Parkplatz kann gegen Gebühr dazu gebucht werden. Ausserdem werden von einem Putzteam ein Mal pro Woche alle gemeinsamen Räume, d.h. Küche, Bäder, Wohnzimmer etc. geputzt.

The neighbourhood is quiet with many families. There are quite a few restaurants and fun sports facilities close by, like ping-pong, soccer, basketball, ASVZ sport center, Irchelpark (with alpacas!) and Käferberg. You can easily get downtown with public transportation or by walking (10 mins to HB via tram and 30 mins by foot). Our location is very well connected: the Guggachstrasse tram station is a 2 minute walk away, and Milchbuck, Bucheggplatz, Laubiweg, and Schaffhauserplatz are all within a 8 minute walk (nearby tram lines: 7, 9, 10, 11, 14, 15, nearby bus lines: 32, 40, 69, 72, 83). It’s a 2 minute walk to the nearest Coop and 8 minutes each to the nearest Migros and a Denner.

Die Nachbarschaft ist recht ruhig mit vielen Familien. In der Nähe gibt es viele Restaurants und Sportmöglichkeiten (z.B. Tischtennisplatten, einen Fußballplatz, Basketballkörbe und eine Sportanlage vom ASVZ). Der Irchelpark (mit Alpakas!) und Käferberg sind nur ein kurzer Fußweg entfernt. Die Innenstadt ist mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln und selbst zu Fuß gut zu erreichen (an den HB sind es mit der Bahn nur 10 Minuten und zu Fuß 30 Minuten). Die Anbindung ist super: Haltestellen Guggachstrasse (2 Gehminuten), Milchbuck, Bucheggplatz, Laubiweg und Schaffhauserplatz alle unter 7 min zu Fuß (Tram-Linien: 7, 9, 10, 11, 14, 15, Bus-Linien: 32, 40, 69, 72, 83). Die nahe gelegensten Supermärkte sind ein Coop (2 Minuten zu Fuß), ein Migros und ein Denner (beide 8 Minuten zu Fuß).

Currently, there are 8 people in the WG, 4 girls and 4 guys, between 20 and 28 years old. We are 3 students and 5 young professionals from Switzerland (German-speaking and French-speaking part), Germany, Slovakia, India, and the US, and we speak both English and German at home. At the moment, most of us are working from home. We enjoy doing things together, whether that’s cooking, small parties, or weekend trips to the mountains, but of course we also respect each other’s alone-time. We’re a diverse, open-minded, and friendly WG, where you will hopefully soon feel at home.

In der WG leben aktuell 4 Mädels und 4 Jungs zwischen 20 und 28 Jahren. Wir sind 3 Studenten und 5 Berufstätige aus der Schweiz (deutscher und französischer Teil), Deutschland, der Slowakei, Indien und den USA. Zuhause sprechen wir meistens Englisch und Deutsch. Im Moment, arbeiten die meisten von uns von zu Hause aus. Wir machen gern was zusammen, ob Kochabend, kleine Party oder Wochenendausflug in die Berge, aber lassen dir natürlich auch deinen Freiraum. Es ist also eine bunt gemischte, offene, und sehr sympathische WG, in der du dich hoffentlich schnell wie zuhause fühlen wirst.
