Starting August, I plan to let my room in a shared house in Schwamendingen, 8051 Zürich Stadt, Zürich. My room is fully furnished, and its position on the northeast corner of the house gives it good light during the day. It is located on the top floor.
The rent for the room comes to 600 CHF per month, which includes heat, water, electricity, and maintenance. Internet is separate and comes to 23 CHF per month.
There is no deposit for the room; however, I hope to sell my furniture and equipment to the next tenant. You may, of course, sell this when you move out.
The house is within five minutes walk of Schwamendingerplatz, which has a COOP, Migros, Denner, and a Turkish market (Maxim Supermarket). Larger Chinese and Turkish grocery stores are within twenty minutes tram or bus ride. There is a tram stop less than two minutes' walk from the flat, and bus connections within a five-minute walk.
By public transit, travel to the Universität Zürich or the ETH Zürich takes approximately 20 minutes, transit to Zürich Hauptbahnhof and downtown Zürich approximately 25 minutes. Transit by bicycle takes approximately as long.
My room is located on the top floor, which has a powder room and small kitchen shared with two other persons. The other two floors and basement contain two kitchens, two showers, two bathrooms, a dining room, a lounge, a laundry and drying room, and ample storage.
There are a total of six other people living in the house: one Guatemalan, one German, one Hungarian, one Englishman, one Suisse Romandie, and one Frenchwoman. Three are engaged in their thesis projects at the ETH Zürich, two are engaged in internships, and one began his Ph.D. thesis last year.
We are generally very outgoing individuals who enjoy meeting new people, and we often organise house events such as dinners, movie nights, hikes, ski days, and weekend trips.
The house is managed by JUWO Zürich, and as such tenants must be less than 28 years of age when beginning the contract, currently engaged in education, internships, or another form of training, and have a gross income of less than 30,000 CHF per annum.
I prefer to be contacted by email. If a phone call is absolutely necessary, please place it during the indicated times. We can arrange visits upon contact.
