I live in my creative, light-flooded 2 room old building flat with balcony in the heart of Charlottenburg. This is my sanctuary where I can recharge my batteries after long Berlin nights and stressful workdays.
The flat is located on the 3rd floor and offers two fully furnished rooms (bedroom and living room with cosy couch, hi-fi system & instruments) as well as a large eat-in kitchen with pantry containing everything needed for cooking. There are ornate stoves in the rooms, whereas central heating is being used.
NOTE: the balcony is currently without any flowers.
The flat is very centrally located and has excellent connections.
Public Transport Connections:
In close proximity are the U7, which catapults you directly to Schöneberg, Kreuzberg, Neukölln & Spandau. As well as the U2, which covers Mitte and Prenzlauer Berg. Both lines are also represented with night connections, should you ever be out for longer. In addition, the Charlottenburg S-Bahn station is within walking distance with the S3, S5, S7 and S9 main lines and regional train connections. Bus 109 leaves from the front door.
Attractions and Sites:
Charlottenburg:
Charlottenburg is a district in the west of Berlin. It enjoys an exclusive reputation thanks to its elegant pre-war buildings and luxury boutiques. There are many hotels and department stores along the Kurfürstendamm, or Ku'damm for short. Charlottenburg Palace is known for its baroque interiors and ornate palace garden. Around Savignyplatz, which was a meeting place for literati and artists before the Second World War, Asian restaurants now attract an international crowd.
Kantstrasse: Down the Kantstrasse you have a bunch of authentic asian restaurants.
Blacklist: Bar at the end of Suarezstrassse. It’s also a bit elevated but I heard that their cocktails are really really good.
Monkeybar: Popular hip bar at Zoologischer Garten with a nice view and good cocktails.
Wilhelm Hoeck 1892: Old and traditional Berlin Pub with typical german food.
Stuttgarter Platz: At Stuttgarter Platz you’ll find a bunch of restaurants most of them are a bit more elevated but the area in general is really nice - very Charlottenburg.
CO Berlin: One of my favourite museums for photography! Two other art museums in Berlin in general that I enjoy a lot are Hamburger Bahnhof & Martin Gropius Bau.
A-Trane: One of the most renowned if not THE Jazz Bar in Berlin. They always have pretty nice artists playing there. Usually you have to buy a ticket at the bar to hear the artists - but the price is ok for the quality you’ll get. The times I was there its more formal. There are other Jazz Bars that are a bit more loose & that also allow you to smoke inside. (e.g. ZigZag Berlin, B-Flat- haven’t visited them yet though)
Schlossgarten & Schloss Charlottenburg: Great for long walks in nature and to get a break from busy city life. Also the (very typically german) castle itself is very beautiful - it has been freshly restored and I thing some parts are still being restored. The castle is one of a few castles around Berlin- Brandenburg - another one is Schloss Sanssouci in Potsdam - also absolutly worth a visit esp. on a sunny autumn day!
Banks of the Spree: Also very nice for walks or to have a picknick at the banks. You can walk all the way to the Technical University and further.
Wochenmarkt an der Kirche: Every Saturday and Wednesday theres a farmers market at Karl-August-Platz. You can get really good local products there.
I'm generally flexible when it comes to the time period: one day earlier or later is possible as well as shorter stays.
Pls just contact me through this platform.
Thanks for reading through 'till the end. :)
