Hi! My name is Onyx and I'm a PhD student at the University of Michigan (USA). I will be in Berlin for one (research) year, through a fellowship program at the Free University. My interest is in looking at representations of Blackness in postwar German children's and youth literature.
I'm ideally looking for an apartment without a roommate, that is furnished, and has a kitchen. I would also really like a balcony :) But, I *can* also live with someone/people who understand that introverts like myself needs lots of space.
My in-Germany hobbies include baking yummy (sweet) things, knitting, and watching lots of silly German shows to improve my command of the language.

Hallo! Ich heiße Onyx und ich bin Studierende an der Universität von Michigan (USA). Ich fahre nach Berlin, um ein Forschungsjahr zu machen. Um dies zu machen, hab ich ein Stipendium durch die Freie Universität verdient. Meine Interesse richtet sich auf die Repräsentationen schwarzen Menschen in der deutschen Kinder- und Jugendliteratur der Nachkriegszeit.
Ich möchte sehr gern eine Wohnung ohne Mitbewohner finden, die möbliert ist, und eine Küche hat. Mit Balkon wäre natürlich auch sehr schön :) Ich könnte mit jemanden wohnen, der/die versteht, dass ich als Introvertierte viel Zeit für mich allein brauch.
Unter meine "in-DL" Hobbys stehen: süße Backwaren backen, stricken, und viel deutsche fernzusehen, um mein Deutsch zu verbessern.
