The apartment is let as temporary accommodation. The contract runs for a fixed period agreed in advance and ends on that date. This keeps the paperwork simple for both sides and requires that your stay in Berlin has a clear end date.

The reason your stay is temporary, your planned end date, and where you will live afterwards.
How you will cover the rent: salary, scholarship, employer, own funds, or a guarantor, with the approximate monthly net amount.
Whether you have private liability insurance (Privathaftpflichtversicherung).

Shortlisted applicants will then be asked for: proof of the end date (e.g. fixed-term contract, assignment letter, enrolment certificate, scholarship confirmation), proof of income (e.g. three payslips, contract, scholarship letter, Sperrkonto, or employer cost coverage if you are new to Germany), passports, and the insurance confirmation.
