The room is quite large and fully furnished so I didn't have to buy anything when I arrived. It has a bathroom with toilet and there is even a window to air out. The large window onto the balcony makes the room very bright, and it's very nice to enjoy the balcony in the summer (especially as it's not really overlooked).
As for the rest of the house, the kitchen is also fully equipped with dishwasher, two cooking plates, microwave, countless fridges... The living room is also very large, so there's plenty of room to invite people over or have a good night out with the other roommates! The laundry room has two washing machines and hanging facilities, a freezer and two tumble dryers.
There is also space to store bicycles.
There are bus stops within a 5 minute walk (612 and 856) and the train station (Mehlem) is about a 15 minute walk away.
By bike, the Stadthalle underground station is about 10 minutes away.
If, like me, you like to go out in the evening, there is a night bus that leaves from Bonn center and arrives directly at the Lannesdorf Mitte stop, which is only 5 minutes from the house!
As far as the other tenants are concerned, they are quite pleasant, personally I'm often out and about but on the days I'm at home it's always nice to have people to chat to or have a drink with. We often sit in the living room and eat together and watch TV. If you're more of an introvert and prefer to be alone sometimes no one will bother you, but if you're a bit of an extrovert and like to have people to hang out with that's just as well!
So far I've been the only French person in the house, all the others speak German, but recently we have a new flatmate who speaks mostly English so we speak a lot more English than before :)
