Zentral und verkehrsgünstig, aber ruhig und grün

Bottrop, a manageable large city on the northern edge of the Ruhr region, offers a high quality of life at moderate costs. While wolves have reestablished themselves in the north of the Hohe Mark Nature Park and new lake landscapes are forming, the south offers exciting tours via the Route of Industrial Culture to the Zollverein World Heritage Site to the Gasometer/Centro in Oberhausen or to the old steelworks in Duisburg. Culturally, there is a lot going on after the Ruhr2010, in which Essen and 53 cities (incl. Bottrop) were the European Capital of Culture. The museum center "Quadrat" in Bottrop, for example, is part of the museum network around the Folkwang Museum in Essen and is one of the world's most respected museums of modern art. Theater & Philharmonie in Essen, the German Opera on the Rhine, the Bochum Schauspielhaus, the Musiktheater im Revier or the Recklinghausen Ruhrfestspiele enjoy a very good national and international reputation and can be reached in less than 1/2 hour drive from the house. The Bottrop cultural center "August Everding" can be reached on foot in 15 min. and houses a municipal cinema with an exciting selection of special films, as well as the "living library" and a nice cafe/bistrot to linger. The house is only a 3 min. walk to the campus of the new university HRW, whose facilities (e.g. the FabLab) are accessible to everyone. Thus, all other educational institutions of the city, as well as the sports facilities are easily accessible on foot. With three buslines, only 3 min. by foot, it is easy to use public transport even so the central station and the ZOB can be reached by foot easily. The Stadtpark is only 10 min. away and the city center as well.
