Rent is 555EUR, warm. So heating and water are included. It's 45m^2, but without a balcony, and its on the first floor. It has 2 big rooms, 1 small kitchen, 1 bathroom (with shower only), 1 alcove/storage room (inside the apartment). The building itself is made from solid concrete, so sound is generally not that much of an issue. The people living there are mostly old people and a few small families, and with student flatshares on the floor below.
The apartment is on Hannoversche Strasse 152B, its about 10 minutes by bike from the university. The area is pretty nice, its about 10-15 minutes walk from the forest, and its usually pretty quiet. The only exceptions are during summer, if you have the windows open you can hear the kids in the swimming pool close by, and the fire station tests its alarms a few times a year (but you never hear the fire trucks).
There's a Real close to by, and a Nahkauf about 15 minutes walk away, which is open on Sundays for a few hours. There are 3 different busses that stop right outside on the main street, and another 1-2 if you walk a bit.
The windows all face north, so it never gets direct sun light, so during summer its always nice and cool, even when its 30+ degrees outside. On the top floor there are 2 rooms with 1 washing machine and 1 dryer in each. Its not a lot for such a large building, but I usually don't have problems getting my clothes washed.
