The apartment is a self contained studio, available on a fixed term basis for 3 - 11 months from 1 Feb.
All bills are included in the rent (including gas, electricity, internet, heating and building maintenance costs), although this is limited to reasonable use. Any unreasonable usage will be subjected to additional costs to you (although I have never had to charge anyone extra for this).
The apartment is situated right in the city centre, 5 mins from Alexanderplatz station, right beside the hotel chain, Hampton by Hilton, among others.
In terms of our position to the surrounding neighbourhoods, to the north, we have Prenzlauer Berg, a lovely residential area with their local bars and restaurants. To the east, we have Karl-Marx-Allee, with an abundance of iconic architecture from the DDR times. To the west, we have Hackerscher Markt / Museum island (the name probably speaks for itself!). To the south, you can find Unter den Linden, the historical street in Berlin, leading to Brandenburg Gate and the civic district.
For transport, Alexanderplatz is one of the busiest transport hubs in Berlin, with long distance trains, local trains (U-bahn and S-bahn), trams, regional bus (Flixbus) as well as local bus connections. It is definitely one of most well-connected place in Berlin.
For grocery shopping, there is a supermarket just round the corner from the building, as well as a 24-hour convenience store and pizzeria right across the road. Our nearest gym, FitX, is 4 mins walk away, and there are at least 2 other options that I am aware of.
Having lived in this area myself, I have to say it is hard to find a better area that allows you to travel easily to any part of Berlin, and at the same time is in itself a lovely place to live in!
The flat itself is on the 9th floor, which offers a nice view towards Soho Haus and Prenzlauer Berg.
And yes, we have a lift :)
If you are interested, I look forward to hear from you.
Finally, if you would like to proceed to rent the room, the documents I need are listed below. You can bring them with you during the viewing, or show them to me later when you've made a decision (you don't have to send them to me online if you are not comfortable with that).
- Passport
- Employment contract
- 3 months bank statement
- Personal liability insurance
- Schufa (jetzt beantragen)
