Hi! We are Abi, Jonas, Sasha, and Eddie, and we have a room available for interim rent for 1-3 months, starting in July.
The room is approximately 12m², roughly square, with a slight roof slope since we're on the top floor. It’s the same size and layout as Fabi’s room, which you can see in the picture. If you need any basic furniture, we can provide a mattress, blanket, pillow, covers, a shelf, a chair, and a table to make your stay comfortable. Our flat was renovated in 2019, so everything is in great condition. We have two bathrooms—one with a shower and one with a bathtub.
A bit about us: since some of us aren't super fluent in German, we communicate primarily in English. We’re looking for someone who can help us maintain a queer safer space in our flat. We’re a supportive and open-minded group, and we hope to find someone who shares these values.
Living together means sharing responsibilities and keeping common areas tidy, but it’s also about building a friendly community. We enjoy sharing meals and supporting each other, especially when it comes to mental health. We talk openly about these issues and support one another.
Our flat is a pet-free zone due to allergies, so unfortunately, we can’t accommodate dogs or cats. However, we do love spending time together, whether it’s going for a walk, playing card games, cooking and baking, or taking care of our plants.
We all share similar political and feminist viewpoints and are committed to being anti-racist, anti-fascist, and anti-sexist. We have no tolerance for discriminatory behavior or language and hope to find someone who feels the same.
If this sounds like a place you’d feel at home, we’d love to hear from you. Please write a bit about yourself and how you see yourself fitting into our WG. It’s important for us to get to know you, so please send your message in English.
We have five rooms in the top floor and there is no elevator, so unfortunately we are anything but barrier-free. We have two bathrooms, one with tub, one with shower. The flatshare was started in the spring of 2019, right after the renovation.
Our house has a large garden shared with the three neighboring houses. This garden is created, brought to life and used by us tenants. In the direction of this garden we have a large balcony where smoking is allowed.
Your room is the same size as the other rooms: Roughly 12m², roughly square. It has a slight roof slope because we're in the top floor. The window faces west to a small street, on the other side of which is a small park with a playground.
This area is great to walk around outside, the canal is just four houses away and towards Lindenauer Hafen there are quite nice walking trails.
Like most apartment blocks, our house has a supermarket and tram stop nearby. The S-Bahn station Lindenau is less than 10 minutes walk.
Some of us go to work or school during the day and return in the afternoon, others are here more or most time of the day, someone does homeoffice. We play instruments like the classic guitar, accordion, ukulele electric guitar and of course the most beautiful of all instruments the one we always carry with us: Our voices. The noise isolation in the flat is very good.
Some of us eat meat or fish more or less frequently, but when we cook together, we cook vegetarian.
Right now, we are in the process of discussing and restructuring the organization of shared responsibilities, care work and cleaning, and of course you are invited to bring in your preferences, skills, experiences and wishes.
Jonas, he is our Computer nerd and has someone for visit most of the time. Jonas favorite 90s TV show is without question Buffy the vampire slayer. He has lots of wires in his room and has cooking skills. Jonas is a master hitchhiker (or used to be?). Jonas is very responsible, focused and keeps the flat together.
Sasha works for a feminist NGO. She is queer and has lots of nerdy hobbies. Sasha's favorite 90s TV show is twin peaks. Sasha is our expert on memes of all kind. Sasha likes video games and has cute stuff in their room. Sasha is the one that comes with a funny comment even if we talk about serious topics.
Eddie is a trans guy who likes buying bread in order to gain the status of the "breadwinner" of the WG. He has quite a busy year since he is working on his master thesis (remotely) and doing an apprenticeship simulatneously for which he is gone from Leipzig regularly. To relax, he likes chatting with the WG, reading a book on the balcony and playing guitar. If the academic career should fail he is planning on becoming a rockstar.
Abi is always friendly and caring and nice to be around. They always have a smile on their face and are cultured in anime. In their previous life, Abi was a gay gothic pirate (accordning to someone). Abis favourite 90s TV show is Greatest Teacher Onizuka. Abi is a foodie and very interested in trying different stuff.
If you are interested in the room, please write us a personal message in which you also tell us something about yourself. It has to be in english language so we all understand it equally! Also, it is required that you specify your favorite 90s TV show.
Let us know what your wishes and needs are for the process of getting to know each other!
