Your room is Hof-facing, quiet and bright with two windows (one big, one small).
The room is around 14 square meters, with laminating flooring (the rest of the flat has real wood floors). The whole flat was renovated in February this year, so everything is pretty new and shiney.
The contract would be for 1 year. August 1st is the earliest you could move in, but we are also pretty flexible.
Your room is unfurnished, but we will gladly help you bring your things up the stairs. Also we have access to a drill and you're welcome to put up curtains, shelves or anything else your heart desires.
5 min walk to S/U Neukölln, 8 min walk to S Sonnenallee.
4 min walk to Penny supermarket. Football and tischtennis 1 min walk ;)
The street itself is super quiet and there's a small football pitch opposite.
Maybe we're a little bias, but we think this area is GREAT: we're really close to Richardplatz, Bohmischer Platz, Korner park and lots of nice bars and restaurants.
You'd be living with two good friends, Nat and Joss, who met in Berlin, but originally come from the UK. We've both lived in Berlin for 5 years so know the city pretty well, however, we're still trying to hunt down the best Falafel in Neukolln, so it would be good if our future flatmate had some leads.
Joss works in a Kindergarten and is also studying early childhood development, which means she doesn't have a lot of free time at the moment. But when she does, she likes to spend it making jokes and drinking beers. She's been spending the summer so far planting lots of things on our balcony -- we plan to become self-sufficient by 2024 (so far we have harvested two strawberries, two batches of salad and some parsley). Joss has been on the hunt for a German tandem partner for the last 5 years, so someone to practise with would be a plus (but not essential, we're an english speaking house).
Natalie is currently on a creative sabbatical (aka unemployed). However, when she does return to the booming job market, she will continue working as a copywriter for startups. She is experimenting with different hobbies at the moment, so far she's tried sewing classes, fermenting stuff and bouldering. Nat also enjoys experimenting in the kitchen and makes delish salads, scones and jams. In Nat's room we have a projector where we will often watch something together in the evening (popcorn included).
Our weekdays are fairly relaxed and are often spent in the flat, cooking and watching German reality TV (in the evening). Over lockdown we also added Scrabble, fitness routines and life drawing to our activity list. Our weekends are spent mostly drinking beers with friends, sometimes in clubs but more often in pubs. We'd love to find a housemate who is laid back, neat n tidy and is, ideally, employed. We've also recently been into playing frisbee and rounders (similar to softball) and are always up for new players.
If you think you could be a good fit for us, send us a message with a little bit about yourself. We'll get back to you with when you could come meet us and see the flat.
***Something to note: we have an open plan kitchen, therefore when someone is using the kitchen, the noise does carry a bit more. However, neither Joss or I are midnight snackers or up particularly early at the weekends. You should also be aware that the flat is compact (65 sqm) and is not a "Zweck-WG". There isn't a huge amount of shared living space, however, we do have a table in the kitchen big enough to sit three people and a balcony in Joss' room. The flat is NOT ideal for someone who prefers to spend a lot of time alone in their room.
