Nein, wir meinen nicht den Zoo in Stuttgart, sondern das teilselbstverwaltete Wohnprojekt "Wilhelma" hinter dem Clubhaus 😊 Obwohl auch wir ...

... in einem großen, grünen Gehege leben mit einem Wohnzimmer, Sitzecken, einem Balkon, einem groooßen Garten mit Zugang zur Ammer und der Uni-Cafeteria am Clubhaus Wilhelmstraße als direkter Nachbar. Außerdem haben wir einen Wäschekeller, einen gruseligen Keller-Keller, Dachboden und einen (etwas chaotischen) Werkzeugkeller. Und nicht zu vergessen: einen Foodsharing-Fairteiler und eine kleine Umsonstladenecke!

... großen Wert auf ein gut gepflegtes Gehege legen! Deshalb wirst auch Du wie alle anderen in regelmäßige Putzdienste eingebunden! Alle zwei Wochen findet außerdem ein Plenum statt, in dem wichtige organisatorische Dinge etc. besprochen und per Konsensprinzip entschieden werden. Konsens heißt, dass eine Entscheidung nur dann getroffen wird, wenn alle Bewohner*Innen damit leben können.

... Vielfalt leben! Von Psychologie, Politik-, Erziehungs-, Literaturwissenschaft über Soziologie, Computational Linguistics, Ethnologie, Medizin, Physik, Archäologie, Mathe und mehr sind bei uns alle möglichen Studiengänge und Berufe vertreten und wir freuen uns auf mehr 😊 Auch internationale und queere Menschen sind bei uns ausdrücklich und herzlich willkommen und vertreten – sowie alle, die Bock aufs Projekt haben! Im Moment haben wir auch noch zwei fellige Mitbewohnis, nämlich unsere zwei alten Katzen Moritz und Panthera, die im oberen Flur wohnen, aber auch im Rest des Hauses umherstreunen.

... immer genug zu essen haben. Wir sind Teil des Foodsharing Netzwerkes. Kurz gefasst bedeutet das: Wir holen jeden Samstag Lebensmittel von einem Biosupermarkt ab, die dieser über den Tag nicht verkauft haben - und retten damit wertvolles Essen vor dem Mülleimer! Außerdem zahlen wir monatlich je 50€ in eine gemeinschaftliche Essenskasse ein, aus der vegane (und teilweise vegetarische) Lebensmittel für alle bezahlt werden. Diese Lebensmittel dürfen alle benutzen – um für sich oder für alle zu kochen, das ist super entspannt, weil man so kaum selbst einkaufen gehen muss. Es kommt zudem meist mehrmals die Woche vor, dass eine*r (oder mehrere) für alle kochen – meistens vegan und quasi immer vegetarisch, damit alle mitessen können. Das gemeinsame Abendessen sorgt für ein familiäres Miteinander, deshalb freuen wir uns immer, wenn ein paar Menschen dabei zusammenkommen – es ist aber natürlich kein Muss! 😊 Freund*innen sind auch immer herzlich Willkommen und dürfen gerne mitessen.

Die Wilhelma liegt direkt hinter dem Clubhaus, also grob zwischen dem Alten Botanischen Garten und der Neuen Aula, zu Fuß sind es zwei Minuten zur Uni-Bib und dem historischen Lesesaal, zwei zur Mensa Shedhalle, fünf in die Altstadt und fünfzehn zum Hauptbahnhof. Mit dem Bus sind es ab der Haustür fünfzehn Minuten auf die Morgenstelle (Naturwissenschaftliche Fakultät).

Was wir uns von dir wünschen: Leben in Selbstverwaltung ist im Allgemeinen beanspruchender als das Leben alleine, in einer WG oder im Wohnheim. Deswegen ist es uns wichtig, dass du ein gewisses Maß an Eigenverantwortung mitbringst und vor allem Bock auf Engagement im Projekt hast, selbstreflektiert und kritikfähig bist 😊 auch die regelmäßige Teilnahme an Plena ist erwünscht, da wir nur so basisdemokratisch zusammenleben können. Neben den üblichen Aufgaben, die rund um das Haus und den Garten anfallen, organisieren wir manchmal Veranstaltungen wie unsere allsemesterliche Wilhelma-Party, gelegentliche Soli-Flohmärkte, Wohnzimmer- oder Gartenkonzerte, etc. 😊 wenn du Lust hast dich auch da gelegentlich einzubringen, freut uns das sehr. Generell ist uns natürlich besonders wichtig, dass wir uns alle gut verstehen und uns wohl miteinander fühlen. Die Wilhelma soll unser aller Zuhause sein <3

By „Wilhelma“ we don’t mean the Stuttgart zoo but the partially self-organized house project “Wilhelma” behind the Clubhaus. Although we also…


…live in a large, green enclosure with a living room, chill out areas, a balcony, a biiiiiig garden with access to the stream ‘Ammer’ and neighbouring the uni cafeteria at Clubhaus. We also have a laundry room, a creepy basement, an attic and a (slightly chaotic) workshop/crafting room. And we are part of the foodsharing network and have a small for free ‘shop’!


…like to keep our enclosure tidy. That’s why you – just like everybody else – will become part of our regular cleaning schedule. Every two weeks we have a plenum where important organizational stuff etc. is discussed and decided about via the principle of the unanimous vote. That means that a decision is only made if everyone can cope with it.
…live in diversity! Our residents pursue many different studies and jobs, such as psychology, politics, pedagogy, literature, sociology, computational linguistics, ethnology, medicine, physics, archaeology, maths and more… and we are always happy to add some more to the list 😊 International and queer people are explicitly welcome and represented, just as anyone who fancies joining our project! At the moment we also have two fluffy roommates: our elderly cats Moritz and Panthera, who live on the top floor but like to roam the whole house.


…always have enough to eat. We’re part of the foodsharing network. In short, this means: every Saturday we collect groceries from a wholefood shop which could not be sold that day. This way we save good and valuable food from landing in the trash! Furthermore we pay 50€ each per month into a community food fund which is then used to buy vegan (and vegetarian) staples which are then shared by everyone to cook for themselves or for the community. That’s very stress-free because you barely have to go to the supermarket yourself. Sometimes people voluntarily cook (mostly vegan, always vegetarian) for the community and we eat dinner together which provides a cozy and familiar feeling. This ‘community dinner’ happens approximately twice a week at the moment and is completely without pressure but (of course) greatly appreciated 😊Friends are always welcome to join.


…are located centrally, directly behind the Clubhaus, which means between the Alter Botanischer Garten and the Neue Aula, the uni library is within a 2 minute walking distance and the canteen and old town both within a 5 minute walking distance. By bus you can reach the natural science faculties and the university hospital (both on the hilltop) within 15 minutes.


Our wishes for a new housemate: Life under self-administration typically is more challenging than living alone, in a WG or a student dorm. That’s why it’s important to us that you have a certain amount of responsibility and a desire to be an active part of our project, and that you are reflected and open to criticism 😊Regular attendance at the plena is desirable because that’s the only way that we can live our consensus principle. On top of the regular household & gardening tasks we also sometimes organize events like parties, concerts, flea markets etc. If you are interested in actively taking part in our event planning, you’ll always be very welcome. Generally, it’s of great importance to us that everyone is getting along and feeling at home at the Wilhelma <3
