The room is approximately 24m2, and is located at the front of the house with an South-East facing balcony. It gets the sun in the morning, which is great if you want to have a coffee or breakfast outside on the balcony. It is bright and spacious with beautiful wooden flooring and high ceilings. It has a windowed door and large windows facing out onto the road. The balcony is furnished with a wooden table and chairs. The room is partly furnished, with a desk, wardrobe and sofa. There is also a possibility of a bed.
The location is great, in a quieter part of the lively area of Friedrichshain. It has a nice community feel to it, and is directly beside a park in the Rudolfkiez. It's a couple of minutes walk to the river Spree, where you can sit and have a beer and enjoy great sunsets and ambience. It is close to the Stralauer Halbinsel (peninsula) which is great for riverside running and in the summer you can go there for a swim. There are a few nice bars and restaurants around the corner, a handy Spätkauf, and it's about a 10 minute walk from three supermarkets - Rewe, Lidl and Netto. It's a 10 minute walk to Warschauer Ubahn, Sbahn, and M10 tram and 12 minutes to Ostkreuz with connections to the airport, Ringbahn and Sbahn.
You will be sharing with me, Rachel (43), my flatmate Kamal (32), and my son Alexander (3). I'm originally from the UK, and have been living in Berlin for 15 years, and I work as a copywriter in advertising. I am social, friendly and easy-going and speak English and German. Alexander is very smiley and open to new people and has a cheeky manner. He makes friends wherever we go. Kamal is from India, is relaxed and friendly, and is currently working from home in IT. He speaks English, Hindi, and a little bit of German. We like to be clean and tidy and have a cleaning rota, and both enjoy cooking. The flat has a large shared kitchen, with a big fridge-freezer, dishwasher, and a table to eat at. There's a big 5* bathroom with both a shower and a bath, and a washing machine.
