Hey everybody!
We're looking for a new roommate for our 3-bedroom apartment in Friedrichshain. The room is available from 01.06.2020
It is a huge room with big windows for lots of light. The house has a balcony we all share. The room is unfurnished, but there is an extra mattress available if you need it! We also have a washing machine, oven, hot plate, all the normal stuff. There's an interior courtyard where you can keep your bike.
The apartment is on the third floor (no elevator), upstairs from Süss War Gestern. The neighborhood is lively, but our side street is relatively quiet.
There's a big kitchen where we like to sit to have a drink, chat, and sometimes cook together. We're all friendly and open, and like to hang out but definitely respect people's need for space – we all have our own things going on. :)
The rent is €550 including gas/water, plus internet. You would have a separate contract, and Anmeldung is available.

We live 12 min walking from the Sbahn Ostkreuz, Warschauer, and also Samariterstrasse. The Tram m13 is right at our doorstep too.
The apartment is near Boxhagener Platz, so there are all sorts of restaurants, cafes and bars around us. Rewe and Aldi are less than 5 min's walk away!
You will be living with three other roommates:
Alex (29) is an Australian freelance writer and history researcher, interested in East German literature and culture. He is very friendly and speaks pretty good German. Currently staying too is his girlfriend Mathilde (26), a Québécois-American MA student working on the medieval Islamic world. To avoid doing her actual research, she cooks & bakes – more than can be consumed by her and Alex alone. They both like the outdoors, cycling, and going for long walks.
Marina (28) is an Armenian freelance writer, spending most of her time working mostly on poetry/essays and collage art. She smokes and also bakes and is always looking for book recommendations.
We're all interested in music, cinema, art and books – and ice cream.
Sometimes we like to get together in the evening around the kitchen table, but we respect each others privacy so we also like to just chill in our rooms by ourselves and that's okay.
We don't have a strict cleaning system going, but we like to keep things clean. We can be messy like everyone else, but we help each other keep things organised.
We are looking for someone easygoing to live with us for the long term. We speak in English with each other, but Alex's German is pretty good, Mathilde speaks French, and Marina speaks Armenian.

Due to Corona, we're gonna select some people to do a Skype chat with, where we 'meet' you and show you the apartment, and then from there will pick a small number to visit the apartment.
