Dear all,
We are subletting a room in our apartment and looking for a new flatmate from 1st May onwards. Please only write if you are able to rent only for the time indicated.
The room is around 10 square meters and costs 390 Euros a month and is furnished with a sofa bed, small cupboard, a clothe rack with some hangers and a small table and a chair. The room is perfect for people who do an internship in Berlin or who need something temporarily before finding something permanent.
Though the room is quite small, it is the most calm and sunny room in the whole apartment as it shows to the South and the backyard. The apartment is overall around 90 sqm. It has a big kitchen and a bathroom for common use. The apartment is fully equipped and has a washing machine and a dish washer. We have every 3 to 4 weeks a cleaner coming and those costs are shared.
You will live with us both in the flat:
- Fatih is Turkish-German, 39 years old and is in his final stages of his PhD in Anthropology.
- Abigail, is English-American, 32 years old and working as an English teacher.
We are looking for someone fulfilling these requirements:
- age: late twenties or thirties
- open-minded, spontaneous, friendly, left-liberal, queer political, post-colonial thinking
- social, communicative and no problems with sharing food
- working person or student who is also working
- open for regular common activities such as cooking, movies, cultural activities, relaxing at home or going out in the "Kiez" for a walk, coffee or drink
- respecting each other's private space and freedom but still be part of the flat community
- no smoking in the whole flat
- no couples or two friends etc., the room is only for one person
- no pets
The deposit of 500 Euros has to be paid by signing the contract and you will get it back when you move out.
Please contact us and give some information about yourself. We will invite interested candidates in order to get to know in the days after Easter. We will have only personal viewings (no skype, video call etc.).

The apartment is located right by Hermannplatz, where you will find the U-Bahn (U7, U8) and various busses (M29, M41, 194, 171). Nearby you will find also various Supermarkets (Netto, Aldi, Edeka, Penny), Turkish supermarkets, delicious bakeries, drugstores (DM and Rossmann) and a Karstadt. You have immediate access to various banks (Sparkasse, Deutsche Bank, Postbank, Volksbank) and plenty of restaurants, cafés and bars in the neighbourhoods around as the location is very close to all popular and charming "Kieze" (neighbourhoods) in this area e.g. Graefekiez, Reuterkiez, Schillerkiez, Kotti and Bergmannkiez. Green areas and parks such as Hasenheide and Tempelhof are very easy to reach and it is also a very short walk to the canal to enjoy nice walks along the water.
