The room itself is pretty big and very square with huge windows. It will be furnished almost as seen on the pictures.
The room also has an additional door that leads to the balcony, which can also be entered from other rooms.
As long as the weather is cold we smoke in the kitchen only, once it gets warmer, we limit smoking to the balcony.
The big 2 room apartment is on the 3rd floor of a 70s concrete apartment block down on Friedrichstr. on the Kreuzberg side. It's a 1 min walk from U kochstr., a 5 min walk to U Hallesches Tor and a 5 min walk to Anhalter Bahnhof in case you need the North-South S-bahn lines. a 2 min walk will get you to the M29 bus which takes you anywhere you want to but much less efficiently then the U-Bahn.
Though not the hippest of areas, we also have Spätis, pingpong tables, quite a few parks, typical fast food, some relatively fancy restaurants, more apartment blocks, an astounding two Edekas (including the trashiest Edeka in Berlin) and a Lidl within a 3-5 min walk.
There are 2 bedrooms. One of them will be yours, the other one is occupied by me for this period. In theory, I'm still studying but have recently started a full-time position working for refugees. In my free time, I enjoy playing the piano along with a bunch of other instruments, listening to music, reading books, going out with friends, etc. I'm used to sharing everything in the house (towels, food, etc.) and want you to feel (and act) like you're at home and not a guest. Of course, a lot of importance is given to cleanliness and friendliness. The rest is really up to you.
There are also 2 amazing cats with very different characters who are the actual owners of the house, so you will have to be able to deal with them too while also keeping your ground and not letting them take over your life.
As a final note, I'm a smoker, so that shouldn't be a problem either.
