About the room:
The room is 23 sqm big and laid out with a sisal-like natural carpet. It costs 490€ including all bills. Both rooms are facing South-West onto the green Humanplatz and have big windows, so they are very bright and sun enters in the afternoon and evening.
The room is furnished with vintage furniture.
About the flat:
The flat is located in an old reformist building from the 20s, last century. That means old house, but not the typical high ceilings that you find so often usually in Berlin.
On the plus side the house surrounds a park-like garden with a lot of old trees in which one can play and slackline. Once there was an initiative of doing yoga in the garden … This could be extended. ; )
Also there is a huge attic connected to my flat which only I/we use for hanging laundry.
There is a bathtub and a kitchen with an extendable table and little storage rooms to keep food and cleaning utilities.
Many of the neighbors in my staircase have really old contracts and live there since DDR-times. So many don’t speak english and prefer a quiet way of living together.
The house itself is very sensitive to sound. This means listening to music really loudly or playing loud instruments to uncommon times is not possible.(There are rules) Or only possible in extraordinary situations and its pleasant if one talks to the neighbors first. The good side is that since the flat is on the top floor, it is super quiet! We don’t hear any neighbor really. Walking all the stairs is a good exercise.
Zum Zimmer:
Das Zimmer ist 23 qm groß, mit Natur-Sisal ähnlichem Teppich ausgelegt, es liegt bei 490€ (inklusive Allem). Es hat große Fenster Richtung Süd-West raus und ist dementsprechend hell und sonnig vor allem am Nachmittag und Abend.
Man hat einen sehr schönen Blick auf den grünen und belebten Humanplatz mit Tischtennisplatten, Spielplatz und Café.
Das Zimmer ist mit Vintage-Möbeln möbliert.
Zur Wohnung:
Die Wohnung ist in einem 20er Jahre Reformhaus. Das heißt Altbau, aber keine besonders hohen Decken. Dafür ein wunderbar großer, grüner Innenhof in dem man eine Slackline aufspannen kann. Einmal gab es eine Initiative mit Yoga im Innenhof … Ausbaufähig!
Außerdem gehört zur Wohnung ein großer Dachboden, den nur ich/wir nutzen zum Wäsche aufhängen. Es gibt eine Badewanne und eine Küche mit Mixer, ausziehbarem Tisch, Vorrats- und Rumpelkammer.
Die Mehrheit der Nachbarn bei mir im Aufgang wohnen schon mehrere Jahrzehnte im Haus. Dementsprechend sind die Vor- und Nachteile. Es ist ruhig (bis auf eine Ausnahme) aber es soll auch ruhig bleiben.
Die beiden Frauen unter mir schätzen insbesondere die Ruhe sehr. Das Haus ist sehr hellhörig. Für mich kein Problem, da meine Wohnung im obersten Stock ist. Es ist absolut ruhig, nur muss man ziemlich viele Treppen steigen und kommt so ganz schön gut in Form. Musizieren geht aber nur im Rahmen der üblichen Gesetze.
Ich wünsche mir Nichtraucher*innen.
The area is super comfy and quiet: During lockdown time it provides enough greenery to relax. The closest parks are just across the house: Humanplatz, Park close to the planetarium and the Mauerpark. In normal times the area is filled with really nice Cafès. I am so lucky to share a garden with friends nearby in Weissensee. Of course you are more than welcome to visit!
The overall population structure is still quiet ungentrified, cause I am living just outside the Ringbahn. (Even so the Ringbahn itself is just 5 min walking away.) So it is a really comfy mix of young international peoaple, families and old Berliners, often socialised during DDR times.
There are plenty of organic supermarkets (Alnatura, Denns, Bio-Company), as well as the usual supermarkets around.
Also there is a swimmingpool nearby the planetarium and another really big one not so far at Velodrom. A bike ride to Alexanderplatz just takes 15 min.
Public Transport:

How I imagine our community life:
For me its super important that we get along well and feel connected. I like to create a sense of a community in which we try to support each other in solidarity.
This means to me: we can talk about everything from heart to heart and most importantly just be ourselves. If something bothers us, we say it out and try to find constructive solutions, rather than incorporating the negative energy and spreading bad vibes.
We know what belongs to us and what to the others and what to outside. I appreciate friendliness and openness. : ) I try to live those virtues myself.
I would describe myself as an extrovert introvert. I can take a lot of time for myself to think, play, relax and create. In the same time I am quiet outgoing and lively. I appreciate a lively social life and I love to cook and eat together. *If you have been reading so patiently until here, please insert the super secret codeword „I have really been reading all of this“ - this ill raise your chances ;)“ Every other week I am getting a farmers box from a solidarity farming project outside Berlin. (organic food) Shared money for food would be great, but of course depends on our lifestyles and sometimes in my experience turns out to be a bit complicated cause habits are different. But of course the spending on money should somehow be fair. (I don’t count peanuts here.)
Important note: I wish non-smokers as tenants please.
About myself:
I am an artist, designer, pedagogue, gardener and also becoming a yoga-teacher. In short: I work in the cultural fields. Currently I am working 15 hrs a week for the new childrensmuseum of the Jewish Museum, otherwise I am self-employed. Also I am increasingly studying shamanism. I am usually working on several creative projects alongside and I love to travel either backpacking, hiking, climbing, surfing or traveling with my bus. I am living with my old cat Leni which I have adopted. Leni is a very strong character who might miaou quiet self-confident and loves to cuddle sometimes. It would be a plus if you are a cat-loving person who loves to take care of her as well. In general I prefer people who see animals and plants as a plus and love those creatures. ; )
Of course I carry the responsibility and costs for her.
My current life situation is in form of transition. On the long run I don’t see myself getting old in Berlin, but I want to keep the flat and the garden as a Hub.
In a way the flat has also become a storage for dear things and furniture that I am trying to reorganize a bit and sorting out some things.
Zum Miteinander, was ich mir wünsche:
Mir ist vor allem wichtig, dass wir uns irgendwie gut verstehen und auf der gleichen Wellenlänge schwimmen und uns auch mal in aller Selbstverantwortlichkeit solidarisch unterstützen, denn gemeinsam geht es oft besser. Es wäre natürlich schön wenn wir ein paar Einstellungen und/oder Interessen teilen. : )
Kommunikationskultur: Wir reden möglichst über alles. Von Herz zu Herz und konstruktiv. Wenn uns etwas stört, sagen wir es. Emotionen und Gefühle machen keine Angst. Wir wissen was zu uns gehört und bei uns bleiben sollte und was wiederum mit dem anderen zu tun hat. Ich schätze Freundlichkeit und Offenheit. : ) Ich bin selbst vielleicht eine extrovertierte Introvertierte ; ) Brauche auch viel Zeit für mich alleine und zum Nachdenken, Spielen, Kreieren, freue mich aber genauso über ein nettes Miteinander, gemeinsam Kochen und Essen und kann auch sehr offen und expressiv sein. Ein - zweimal wöchentlich beziehe ich Gemüse von einem solidarischen Landwirtschaftsprojekt, dem Spörgelhof. Eine gemeinsame Haushaltskasse fände ich toll, aber meistens auch etwas kompliziert wegen unterschiedlicher Gewohnheiten. *Falls du bis hier hin gelesen hast, füge doch deiner Antwort bitte das supergeheime Codewort „Ich hab es auch wirklich gelesen“ bei; )* Ich kaufe selbst zum allergrößten Teil nur Bio. Es muss sich natürlich finanziell irgendwie ausgehen. Hier bin ich selbst keine Pfennigdreherin und schätze faire Konzepte und Ideen.
Zu mir:
Ich bin Künstlerin, Designerin, Pädagogin und Gärtnerin, zur Zeit mit 15h fest im neuen Kindermuseum des jüdischen Museums, ansonsten selbstständig. Kurz Kulturschaffende. Ich interessiere mich für Schamanismus und arbeite an verschiedenen kreativen Projekten. Gerade habe ich eine Yoga-Lehrerin Ausbildung angefangen, da ich mich in dem Bereich irgendwie weiterentwickeln wollte.
Außerdem habe ich eine Katze. Es ist eine alte Pflege-Hauskatze, die ich von einer verstorbenen Frau adoptiert habe.
Sie ist unglaublich lieb, hat aber auch ihren Charakter. Es wäre für mich ein Pluspunkt wenn meine Mitbewohner*innen sich mit um die Fütterung kümmern, wenn ich nicht da bin. Die Kosten und Verantwortung trage ich natürlich selbst.
Mein Leben befindet sich gerade in einer totalen Transformationsphase. Langfristig sehe ich mich nicht fest in Berlin verankert, möchte dort allerdings weiterhin meinen "Hub" behalten und habe mich in den letzten 6 Jahren in meiner schnuckeligen Wohnung auch dinglich ziemlich verhaftet. (Da bin ich nun am Aussortieren.)
Nun aber liegt mein Fokus auf: Im Sommer Garten (in der Kleingartenanlage Freies Land/Weissensee) und im Winter raus aus Berlin ...
