**UPDATE**
Thanks for your patience, we'll answer you this week with our selections.
Hello everyone!
We're hoping you might join our not-so-little living community starting from the 1st of May.
First, about the room: 32sqm, with two big windows that get a lot of sun during the day. Its an Altbau, so of course there are all of the charming elements of that as well - traditional moulding on the ceiling, creaky wooden floors and very high ceilings. The room will come unfurnished. In total it costs 468,20 euros - this includes Nebenkosten as well the 15 euros we use for common shopping every month (for coffee, oil, toilet paper, etc.).
The Flat: 274sqm in total with 2,5 bathrooms, a big fully equipped kitchen, a large living room with plenty of space for lounging, and two separate entrances. Your room would border the hallway, the living room, and Monica's room. Smoking is allowed, but only in the kitchen or living room with the windows open. Since we want some gender diversity, we are looking for someone who is not a woman, since there are already 4 women in the flat. We also would prefer someone who is 26+
We're in Sprengelkiez, with S-Bahn Wedding and U-Bahn Reinickendorfer Straße right at our doorstep. The street can be loud, but as we live on the 2nd floor, the noise is more of a low hum that one can easily get used to. There are plenty of cafes, restaurants and brunch places nearby. Silent Green and Saavy Contemporary are a few steps away, and in a few minutes, one can get to Leopoldplatz or (to be more corona conforming) parks in the area such as Nordhafen, Humboldthain, or the Panke canal. There are also quite a few supermarket options nearby.
The flat is usually filled with laughter, nice conversations and the smell of coffee or something else delicious being cooked. We like hanging out together every so often, but there's also plenty of space for each of us to do our own thing. Cleaning, open communication and the desire to have a safe and comfortable living situation are VERY important for us, so please take note!
And now a little about us....
- Kim is from France and a former festival producer and now works as a freelancer in a yoga studio and a kita. She loves singing, Excel and feminist literature, but despises mornings.
- Gita is Indian and German and is doing a Master's in Cultural Sector and NGO management and works at Heinrich Böll Stiftung. She loves chocolate, going for runs, and cooking, but hates passive aggressiveness (re: open communication!) - Monica is from the U.S. and is finishing a Master's in Cultural Studies and works at a sauna. She loves dancing, puzzles and swearing, and hates shirts with sleeves.
- Alex is from the Netherlands and currently works at a Vaccination Center. She loves laughing loudly, Ebay Kleinanzeige and making crepes, but hates when you talk to her too quickly.
- Gustav is from Berlin and is studying Architecture. He loves Deutschrap, fixing things, and doing pull ups on the pull-up bar, and hates drama.
- And Hugo, our newest flatmate, works at NGO for holding companies accountable for their environmental impact. We don't know his loves and hates yet, but we will soon!
If this interests you, please send us an email and tell us about you! Preferably with pictures of an Instagram or social media link so we can get a better impression of you. Again, we are looking for someone 26+ and someone who is not a woman. If you've read this message to the end, please include a smiley emoji of your choice before you message begins. We look forward to hearing from you!!
Sincerely, Monica, Kim, Gita, Alex, Gustav and Hugo
