I am new to Berlin, looking to tryout different neighborhoods before I commit. So I am open to living almost anywhere and would want at least my own room with kitchen privileges, ideally within 8minutes of a train and near a gym, and am willing to pay plus offer in trade/swap:
A top (3rd) floor studio with a view (outside patio) my landlord friend is holding for me or any friend I choose. It has its own bathroom, but share kitchen and Dining room with one or two others on 2nd floor. Across from it is the laundry room.Maid does the laundry. She won't hold my studio forever. So sooner I find someone for it in trade, the better. Otherwise, I could always offer one of the nices BRs in the floor below which are as big as the studio but without the separate patio and view, but handier to the kitchen. On the floor below there is a separate man's and woman's bathroom, and likely you might have the whole floor to yourself or at most share with a Medical student or US exchange (Spanish submersion) student
THE LOCATION: Arguably the best location in the heart of Oaxaca, 3 blks to a nice park where families usually hangout evenings and wkends, fabulous gym ($20/mo), many restaurants, three dance clubs, 5 blks away is the main tourist walk, 7 blks away is great people's market, 4min walk to the the two key buslines, and more. No need at all for a car.
The HOUSE: 5 BR house: "My" studio (the landlord is personal close friend and always keeps it for me) is on the top (3rd) floor by itself, and, there are 4 BR on 2nd floor, the landlord's place is on the first floor, nice garden area, highly secure, quiet. Normally never more than one or two other rommates at any given time (on the 2nd floor), despite 5BRs available. My studio has its own bath and shower. Woman's bathroom and a Man's bathroom are on 2nd floor. Very sweet landlord and maid. Utilities included.
