✨ Looking for Female+LINTA folks! ✨
Hi folks! I'm subletting a room in my super lovely, sunny, freshly renovated Altbau apartment. I just moved in here in 2023 and have put a lot of love and care into making it pretty, cozy and comfortable.
The room is 13sqm as part of a 53sqm apartment with wooden floors, on the 3rd floor facing east so even in the Berlin winter you get some sun when it shows up!
There are two bedrooms, kitchen (wild times we're living in!), and a bathroom with a bathtub. Comes fully (and lovingly!!) furnished including a washing machine, dishwasher, projector, a coffee grinder and milk foamer, as well as smart lights so you never have to get up again to turn off the bedroom light or mess with someone sitting in another room. Everything is powered by green electricity and gas from Polarstern.
This room comes furnished with a bed (currently 140cm double bed, but I might exchange that for a single bed and a small couch – let's talk about this!), desk, closet and shelving for storage.
Located in Schillerkiez in Berlin-Neukölln, an area full with bars and restaurants, but also parks and the wonderful airport-turned-park Tempelhofer Feld. Directly on the U8 subway connecting it to Alexanderplatz in 14 mins, as well as the Ringbahn (circular line).
Favorite spots for coffee: Pomeranze, Bona, Spore Initiative
Food: Käserei Camdi, Sahara, Sanhok
You'll be living with me, Juli (she/her) a 33 year old human and my cuddly hypoallergenic dog Pestka (~5y/o, I assume she/her but the dog hasn't confirmed). We both like hanging out on the couch or carpet, in the park nearby, and doing hikes to the wine shop.
🧍♀I deal with design / climate / arts / futures, love thrifting and making things (also in the apartment, so there's always a chance there something changes... the question is just what).
I hang out at the improv theater in the evenings and meeting up with friends across Europe in the summer.
I work from home a lot (internet is 40 Mbit/s and there's a repeater so the entire apartment is well connected), sometimes also on weekends and then I'd take off time during the week – you'll see my schedule varies a lot.
I can be very talkative AND I like a lot of alone time – both can be true :) I'm currently writing my PhD dissertation, so I will probably retreat in my room a lot.
🐕🦺 Pestka (the dog) enjoys sitting in sunny spots, asking for 1 love and attention, and chewing on her red ball.
It's a big plus if you like dogs and would be willing to help take care of the dog from time to time (or maybe even co-steward?), though it's not a requirement.
If you don't want the dog to be in your room – that would also be okay! – you'd have to make sure to keep your door closed. Pestka doesn't shed hair, which is great, but she brings in lots of sand from walks :) (This is why we have Sven, the robot vacuum)
We co-habitate with 17 plants spread out across the apartment. They are friendly as long as we think of and water them from time to time, but mostly just happy to be there.
I like to keep the shared spaces tidy, and made good experiences with using an app for distributing cleaning.
There is not a lot of shared space to be honest – just the kitchen really, but there is a nook that comfortably sits 3-4 people if needed, and it's enough space for cooking together or with friends, or enjoying a beverage.
Looking to live with someone who's interested in taking care of the apartment and making living together nice, and we can figure out together what that means.
Female/LINTA/queer folks preferred :)
I'm currently offering this as a temporary sublet June-September. However, there is an option to extend it from October, and/or there is a chance I will be away from October and the full apartment would be available then (1186€ for the entire place). That's something we can also discuss together.
If (only if!) you're looking for what to write about yourself, here's an invitation (pick one/all/none):
✨ What was your absolutely favorite space sharing experience? (Could be long-term or super short)
✨ What situation has made you feel truly at home?
✨ How did you spend your last day off? What does a typical day look like for you?
✨ What specific sharing situation has annoyed you?
✨ How might you be difficult to live with? (this is super benevolent – I care more about awareness, we all have our icks, I'll gladly share mine!)
✨ Can you think of a difficult situation or a conflict you had with roommates (or another situation when sharing) and how did you approach it?
✨ What's something you'd give a 5 min impromptu TED talk about?
✨ What would you like to know about me?
