The room is 17 square meters, with two windows facing the back garden. It’s quiet and has a little work area built in (but easily removed if you don’t want it). It's got a shape that lends itself to different settings, including two columns which create a clean divide between the area by the windows and the area nearer the door.
If you’re seeking a furnished room, my former flatmate is keen to sell his furniture (bed, several shelves, chair, end tables, filing cabinet, etc as in photo) for a modest price.
Beyond your room, there is a big kitchen (also with view onto the garden), a bathroom with shower, a guest toilet, my two rooms (21 sq m together), and a wide hall connecting the other rooms. The flat is 65 sq m total.
The kitchen has built-in cabinets, a fridge, electric oven and hob, a microwave, an espresso machine, an electric kettle, and a dishwasher. The table can expand to seat up to six people, and there's plenty of storage in the cabinets and the shelves.
The back garden is very peaceful and private. The neighbouring buildings don't have any windows facing the garden, and it's got plants along the edges. I have some outdoor furniture to bring out there in warm weather.
In the cellar, there’s a storage cage, a bike room, and a washing machine room (we have our own private machine down there, plus a dryer in the flat).
The flat is well situated, just past the university’s Mensa and Mathematics faculty on Endenicher Allee. There’s a bus stop a minute away, and the Hauptbahnhof is 5 minutes away on the bus (or 15 on foot); lines 604, 605, 606, 607, 631 and N2 all stop here. In 10 minutes, you can walk to shops, cafes and restaurants in the villagey part of Endenich around Frongasse or Poppelsdorf’s Clemens-August-Strasse area. Honestly, everything’s quite close and convenient.
I’m looking for an uncomplicated living arrangement. I work full-time at an NGO, and am especially interested in sharing the flat with another NGO worker, mid-career professional, or graduate student.
It’s grand if we can hang out over a coffee or a glass of wine, but I also value downtime and respect your privacy. I am a Berlin Pendler, so you will often have the place to yourself, especially on weekends.
I’m vegetarian, non-smoker, 43 years old, male. I enjoy running, reading, watching films and sometimes football, cooking, and travel.
Seeking male or female, non-smoker.
Your portion of the rent, including the flat's Nebenkosten, would be €390. There are additional contracts for electricity, gas and internet, and I estimate your portion of these to be about €95 per month.
Altogether you’d pay around €485 per month. (I expect the gas and electricity costs to be lower based on our usage, leading to a reimbursement -- this all-inclusive price is based on the default rates they set as I started the contracts.)
Note: We would sign a new lease with the landlord, who would want to see proof that you can afford the rent. Your employment contract or some other proof of income should suffice.
