A room in a 2 room apartment is available for rent from 1st September onwards.
-Room-
The room is already completely furnished with a bed, mattress, tables, a wardrobe and chairs, all can be further used free of charge. The kitchen and toilet ( with bathtub ) are shared with your roommate. While the kitchen and toilet are shared, each room has their own access to the appartement corridor. The room is on the ground floor. Bicycle parking area is available in the inner courtyard of the apartment building and as such you can safely park your bicycle inside. There is a common washing machine within the apartment building itself.
-Location-
The location is at the heart of Erlangen city center right next to Martin Luther Platz. Within 5
minutes of walk, you can reach the big supermarket Kaufland, the main shopping street of Erlangen ( Hauptstraße ) , the main hospital of Erlangen ( UK Erlangen ) , the main university park and the main university building. Within 10 minutes of walk, you can reach the central station, the social science faculties and Audimax of the university in the other direction and the well known beer cellar hill of Erlangen ( Erlanger Berg ) in the other direction. As a bonus, the legendary Steinbach brewery is just within 2 minutes walk away. If you are planning to take the bus, the bus stop Martin Luther Platz is just 2 minutes walk away.
With a bicycle, you can reach these places, together with many other shops and places such as Netto, Aldi, Lidl, the city hall of Erlangen, Asian grocery shops and Turkish supermarket in 5 minutes or less. Basically, you can get all what you need in 5 minutes or less! The technical faculty of the university is easily reachable within 15 minutes of cycling.
-WG life-
I am a 26 years old masters student studying Computational Engineering at FAU. My roommate is a 28 years old Political Science PhD student at FAU who just got his PhD. I am moving out of this apartment and we are pretty relaxed with who can get this room, you just need to have a student ID and immatriculation proof from the university. We are foreign students and we are really aware of how difficult it is to get past "interviews" when looking for a room in Germany. We didn't know each other ( and I didn't have any "interviews" ) before getting to this apartment and we just slowly become good roommates, eating dinner together, watching TV shows and do barbecues or cycling trips together. Most of the time we are pretty busy with our own activities though. So it doesn't matter to us at all whether you are looking for friends for life or you just want to have a room. We prefer to get things straight, first come first serve and sign the contract kind of thing.
-Cost-
The rent price inclusive of electricity, water and heating is 295 EUR per month. This does not include internet fee. The room is available from September onwards and thus ideal for both short and long term stay.
