Liebe Wohnungssuchende,
in unserer WG wird ein Zimmer frei, das wir gerne vermieten würden. Wir sind eine 3er-WG in einer 80qm Wohnung in einem Mehrparteienhaus (8 bzw. 13 Parteien je nachdem ob es als ein oder zwei Häuser zählt) Baujahr 1930 am Rande der Innenstadt. Als Einzugsdatum würden wir den 15. Juli vorschlagen, das ist aber in beide Richtungen verhandelbar.
Die Wohnung liegt im 3.OG in einem Haus, das insgesamt viel von Studierenden und/ oder jungen Leuten bewohnt wird. Die 80 qm verteilen sich auf die 3 großzügig geschnittenen Zimmer und dann noch Küche und Bad. Die Küche ist "normal groß", zu viert passt man gut rein, irgendwo drüber wird es eng. Wir haben eine Küche von einer ehemaligen Mitbewohnerin "geerbt" (oder genauer gesagt deren Oma), sodass alles einen gemütlichen, teilweise auch etwas improvisierten Charakter hat. Das Bad ist eher schmal geschnitten aber auch schön hell und mit Badewanne und Dusche auch bestens ausgestattet. Die Vermietung wird über eine Hausverwaltung abgewickelt, was seit 2014 sehr gut läuft. Es gibt einen Garten zur Mitbenutzung.
Das jetzt freie Zimmer hat seine Fenster nach Osten raus, sodass dort vor allem morgens und vormittags die Sonne herein scheint. Es ist 17 qm (etwa 3.69 x 4.66m) groß und aktuell so gut wie leer, aber ich habe zur Anschauung auch ein paar Fotos mit ehemaliger Möblierung eingestellt. Wir haben vor das Ganze noch einmal zu streichen, sodass ein paar kleine Stellen an den Wänden, die sich über die Jahre angesammelt haben, weg sein werden. Die Miete sind 303.94€ im Monat inklusive Nebenkosten wie Strom, Wasser, Internet und Rundfunkbeitrag.

Dear potential flat-share partners,
there will be a free room in our shared flat, so we seek a new flatmate for it. We are a 3 person flatshare living in an 80sqm flat in a house with multiple such flats (either 8 or 13 depending on how you individuate houses). The house was build in 1930 (as I fortunately know because of German bureaucracy and a thing called "Energieausweis") and is located slightly outside of the city centre. We suggest July 15th as a start date for the new rent but this can be negotiated.
The flat is on the third floor of a house where many students and young people live. The 80sqm split into three generously spaced rooms and the kitchen and a bathroom. The kitchen is sufficiently large to cook with something like four people. We inherited the furniture of the kitchen from a grandma of a former flatmate, so everything is a bit old but very comfortable. The bathroom is somewhat slim but well-equipped with a shower and a bathtub. The rent of the whole flat is handled by a professional management and we had no issues with them since 2014. There is a shared garden of the house.
The room has three big windows in Eastern direction, so you have some direct sunlight in the morning. It is 17sqm big (approx. 3.69 x 4.66m) and currently almost empty. I also included some pictures with furniture of a former flatmate. We plan to paint everything in the next weeks, so some minor blemishes will be repaired. The rent for the room is 303.94€ per month including all bills for electricity, water, internet and the like.
Die Wohnung liegt in der Marienstraße in einem netten Viertel zwischen Wall und Leine. Viele Häuser hier sind aus den 30ern und so ist es eine schöne, aber definitiv auch bezahlbare Nachbarschaft. Jetzt im Sommer hat man einen sehr grünen Ausblick. Die Lage ist recht praktisch, da man schnell zu Fuß in der Stadt ist oder in Richtung Leine/ Kiessee raus spazieren gehen kann. Vorteilhaft ist auch die Nähe zum Bahnhof, so kann man z.B. nach 10 Minuten Fußweg direkt im ICE nach München oder Berlin sitzen. Vom Bahnhof aus fahren auch viele Busse und mit dem Rad ist man auch schnell am Z-Campus. Bis zum Nordcampus sind es laut Google 14 Minuten mit dem Rad, wobei ich ehrlich gesagt selber eher gut 20 einplanen würde. Den kleinen "Südcampus", also Mathematisches Institut, DLR, Rest-MPI haben wir auch gleich um die Ecke.

The flat is located in the Marienstaße in a nice neighbourhood between the "Wall" and the Leine. Many houses here are like ours so it is a friendly, although not expensive environment. During summer, there are a lot of green trees visible from your window. The location comes with the benefit of being able to go by foot to the city centre in a few minutes, or one can stroll towards Leine and Kiessee. Furthermore, you are very fast (10 mins) at Göttingen train station should you want to travel by long-distance train. Also, there are many Göttingen bus lines departing from the train station. By bike, you can reach the central campus in a few minutes and in something like 20 mins you will be at the North campus. Some old university institutes are also nearby, such as the math department, "DLR" and some remaining parts of a Max Planck institute.
Zurzeit sind wir hier zu zweit, Julia (22) und Fabian (26). Julia studiert Geographie und ist gerade dabei, ihren Bachelor abzuschließen. Wenn das erledigt ist, ist für sie mittelfristig die Perspektive, Göttingen und die Wohnung zu verlassen, sodass wir dann im Laufe des Jahres vermutlich nochmal wen suchen werden. Mittelfristig bleiben werde ich, Fabian. Ich schreibe gerade eine Masterarbeit in angewandter Mathematik und werde aller Voraussicht nach ab Herbst auf diesem Gebiet hier promovieren. Ich bin ein eher introvertierter Typ mit breit gestreutem akademischen Interesse; über die Jahre des Studiums hinweg habe ich z.B. mal Altgriechisch gelernt und auf gewissen Teilgebieten der philosophischen Logik kenne ich mich ganz gut aus. Ansonsten gehe ich gerne mal raus und wenn Corona und Uni-Wochenplan es erlauben rudern auf der Fulda. Gerade wird es dann häufig das Ergometer. Ein aus meiner Sicht gutes WG-Leben allgemein zu beschreiben ist ein wenig schwer, da es immer eine individuelle Sache der Leute ist, aber so grundsätzlich würde ich sagen, man sollte interessiert dran sein und mitverfolgen, was im Leben der anderen gerade so los ist. Konkret habe ich z.B. mit dem jetzt ausziehenden Mitbewohner die Corona-Monate über eigentlich täglich zusammen gekocht und gegessen, das war eine gute Implementierung dieser allgemeinen Vorstellung. Last but not least lege ich auch Wert auf Sauberkeit und Ordnung, einmal wöchentlich putzen sollte man schon machen.

Currently, we are two people here, Julia (22, female) and Fabian (26, male). Julia is studying geography and will most likely finish her bachelor's degree this summer. She is planning to leave Göttingen to study towards a master's degree in a different town. So medium-term wise there will be a further change. I, Fabian, intend to stay here longer. Right now I writing a master's thesis in applied math and I will most likely continue with doing a PhD in this field in Göttingen starting this autumn. I would describe myself as a somewhat introverted character with diverse academic interests. During the last years, I, for instance, took some courses in ancient Greek and I possess some expert knowledge in some areas of philosophical logic. Besides academia, I like to stroll around or go rowing on the river "Fulda" (if circumstances allow; right now I am mostly using my ergometer). It is somewhat difficult to describe in general what I regard to be a desirable social life in a shared flat, but roughly I would say one should be interested in and up to date on the things going on in everyone's lives. To give you a concrete example, I used to cook and eat together with the guy leaving the flat right now on a daily basis. Last but not least, I like the flat being tidy and in order, so you should want to participate in a weakly cleaning of the shared rooms.
