WG im Grünen sucht Mitbewohner:In // Room available in flat close to the forest

Die WG ist auf dem Klausberg gelegen. Der Göttinger Stadtwald ist von der Haustür keine 20m entfernt. Spaziergängen zum Wildgehege oder zum Kerstlingeröder Feld steht somit nichts im Wege, und gerade auch Läufer oder Radler kommen voll auf ihre Kosten. Der Unisport ist auch um die Ecke (<5min mit dem Rad). Die Wohngegend ist familiär und ruhig. Hier kannst du immer mit offenem Fenster schlafen!
Diese Vorzüge haben einen Preis: Die WG liegt auf dem Berg. Wenn also das Fahrrad das Fortbewegungsmittel deiner Wahl ist, solltest du mit kleineren Bergetappen kein Problem haben. Ich persönlich bin auch Radler und habe das nie als Problem wahrgenommen. Im Gegenteil: Der Hinweg (auf dem zumindest ich eigentlich immer latent spät dran bin) ist bergab und geht flott: Innenstadt und Zentralcampus sind in etwa 10 Minuten erreicht, zur Norduni sind es 7, zum Bahnhof 12. Der Rückweg dauert entsprechend etwas länger, ich fahre aus der Innenstadt etwa 15 Minuten, zu Fuß ist man etwa 30 Minuten unterwegs.
Die Linie 80 fährt etwa 5 Gehminuten von der Haustür entfernt. Nächste Einkaufsmöglichkeit sind der Frischmarkt Gellersen oder der tegut in Weende. Insidertipp: Am Wohnheim um die Ecke (5 Gehminuten) stehen eigentlich immer einige yourcar-Autos, falls du mal keine Lust hast, den Einkauf mit dem Rad zu transportieren. Eine typische Einkaufsfahrt kostet etwa 12€.

The flat is situated on the Klausberg, right on the edge of the forest (Göttinger Stadtwald). If you like walks in the woods or if you’re into running or biking, you will have a gigantic playground at your disposal. The university sports center is nearby (<5 mins by bike). We live in a quiet residential area.
All this comes at a certain price: The flat is situated on a hill. If you prefer the bicycle as your primary means of transportation (as most people do in Göttingen), you should not have too much of an issue with ascents. While going down the hill (which is pretty much every direction from our flat) is quick of course, it is the way back up that might leave you panting & sweaty at times. A few benchmarks: going to the city centre or the University will take you about 10 mins. Depending on your fitness level, you will make it back home in about 15 mins. The North campus is about 7 mins away (10 mins back up the hill). The nearest supermarket is about 7 mins away. If you don’t fancy hauling your groceries uphill by bike, there’s a bus stop about 5 walking minutes from the flat (line 80) that will take you to the city centre where plenty of shopping options are available. Also, there are carsharing options within walking distance (5 mins) of the flat.

In der WG verändert sich gerade viel: Es wohnen aktuell Theo (Hauptmieter), Marian und Reeju in der WG. Ab 1.5. geht Theo für 6 Monate ins Sabbatical. Kurz vor Theos Rückkehr in die WG wird Marian die WG verlassen, um seinen Postdoc zu machen. Reeju wird voraussichtlich im Laufe des Sommers ausziehen. Es ist also viel im Umbruch, sodass sich für dich hier auch viele Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten bzgl. des zukünftigen WG-Lebens bieten.

Theo ist 32 Jahre alt und arbeitet seit Abschluss seines Studiums in der IT-Beratung - seit Corona zu fast 100% im Home-Office. In seiner Freizeit treibt er gerne Sport (Laufen, Rennrad, Bouldern) und ist im Urlaub gern wandernd oder radelnd mit dem Zelt unterwegs.
Reeju kommt aus Indien, ist 28 Jahre alt und studiert englische Philologie im Master. Sie ist eine herzensgute Person und einfach eine tolle Mitbewohnerin. Sie ist ein eher ruhiger Mensch, aber eine tolle und witzige Gesprächspartnerin, sobald sie einmal aufgetaut ist. Nicht nur studienbedingt liest sie gern und viel und füllt die WG-Küche durch ihre Kochkunst mit herrlichen Gerüchen.
Marian ist 31Jahre alt und hat gerade seine Promotion in Forstwissenschaften abgeschlossen. In seiner Freizeit fährt er gern Rennrad, ist großer Fan unseres Balkons und des trockenen Humors.
Wir führen das WG-Leben einer recht typischen WG: Unser soziales Zusammenleben ist vor Allem durch mehr oder weniger zufällige Treffen in der Küche oder auf dem Balkon geprägt, die wir gern nutzen, um ins Quatschen zu kommen. Ab und zu kochen wir zusammen. Insofern ist das WG-Leben weder eine reine Zweck-WG, noch absolut symbiotisch.

Neben gegenseitiger Sympathie ist uns Rücksichtnahme wichtig. Wir sind nicht übertrieben pingelig, aber wir schätzen es, wenn gemeinsam genutzte Bereiche ein vertretbares Maß an Sauberkeit und Ordentlichkeit aufweisen und jeder hinter sich aufräumt und die Lautstärke in der WG idR so reguliert ist, dass man konzentriert arbeiten und zu gegebenen Zeiten auch schlafen kann. Die recht alten Türen machen dies manchmal etwas schwierig, das lässt sich aber alles lernen.

Davon abgesehen praktizieren wir die Kunst offener Worte – so ließen sich bisher alle Probleme lösen.

A lot is changing in our flat right now. Currently, Theo, Marian and Reeju are living here. Theo will be leaving for a 6-months long Sabbatical in the end of April. Before Theo comes back, Marian will leave the flat to pursue his Postdoc. Sometime during the summer, Reeju will also leave the flat. All this means, that there's a lot of potential for you to shape how living together will look like in the flat in the future.

Theo is 32 years old and works in IT-Consulting. Usually his job involves quite a bit of travel, but he works from home full time ever since Covid started getting serious. He’s a sportsy person with preferences for bouldering and road cycling.

Reeju is 27 years old and comes from India, and studies English Philology. She’s a very kind and respectful person, and quite simply a pleasure to live with. She’s on the more quiet side of the spectrum but can be very funny once she warms up to people. She likes to read, go for walks in the woods and fill the kitchen with delicious smells of her cooking.

Marian is 31 years old and just finished his PhD in forestry. In his spare time, he likes road-cycling, enjoying the view from our balcony and cracking dry-humored jokes.

We live the life of a typical shared flat: The major share of our social life consists of semi-random encounters in the kitchen or on the balcony. Occasionally, we arrange for cooking together. All in all, we're not just living together to keep costs low, but we’re not overly symbiotic either.

Aside from personal sympathy, we’re looking for a considerate and rather orderly flatmate. We’re not overly picky and keep the flat “pretty tidy” rather than “clinically clean,” but please be able to clean up after yourself. Also, we’d appreciate work- and (at night) sleep-compatible noise-levels. The old doors in our flat make this somewhat of a challenge sometimes, but everything can be learned.

All preferences aside, we practise the art of open communication to solve any issues that might occur and make living together enjoyable for everyone.
