Das Zimmer ist 14 qm groß und gut geschnitten, sodass alle deine Habseligkeiten gut darin Platz finden. Es gibt eine große Fensterfront an der man super seinen Schreibtisch positionieren kann und eine Tür zum Balkon. Die Fenster sind nach Westen ausgerichtet, sodass man sehr schön die Nachmittagssonne abbekommt und premium Sonnenuntergänge sehen kann.
The room is 14 qm big so everything you own will probably fit in there. It has a huge window where you can perfectly put your desk in front and a door to the balcony. The window is oriented to the west so you will have the afternoon sun to brighten your room and a wonderful sunset view.
Die Wohnung/the apartment
Die Wohnung ist Teil des Studierendenwohnheims Theodor-Heuss-Straße und ist wie eine ganz normale 2er WG aufgebaut. Die ganze Wohnung hat eine Fußbodenheizung und ist somit besonders im Winter sehr gemütlich. Außerdem haben wir eine relativ neue Küche die noch gut in Schuss ist und ein sehr modernes Bad. Die Wohnung liegt im 3. Stock, aber keine Sorge es gibt einen Fahrstuhl. So kann man aber ganz entspannt auf dem Balkon (wirklich das Highlight dieser Wohnung) chillen ohne das jemand einen beobachten kann, da dieser so hoch liegt. Dieser ist auch perfekt um ein Gemüse anzubauen oder andere Pflanzen zu pflegen.
Gewaschen wird unten im Keller, wo man Wachmaschine und Trockner ganz einfach mit dem Studierendenausweis bezahlen kann.
Das ganze Wohnheim hat eine Whats App Gruppe über die die wichtigsten Dinge besprochen werden und manchmal auch gemeinsame Events geplant werden
The apartment is part of the student housing Theodor-Heuss-Straße and is build like a normal two room flat-share apartment. The whole apartment has a floor heating system so it is cozy especially during winter. We also have a well equipped kitchen and a modern bathroom. The apartment is on the third floor, but now worries, we have a lift. But this is also nice for the balcony (which is really the highlight of this apartment) because no one will see you on it so you can just chill there without getting any weird looks. You can also use it to plant some plants or vegetables which usually works quite well because of all the sun they will get.
The washing machine and the dryer are in the basement and you can easily pay with your student ID.
The whole student housing has a Whats App group where the important stuff is being discussed and where sometimes some events are organized.
Das Wohnheim liegt in Weende und somit erreicht man mit dem Fahrrad in 5 min das Klinikum, in 10 min den Hauptcampus und Nordcampus und in 15 min die Innenstadt. Es gibt auch direkt vor der Tür eine Bushaltestelle. Tegut, dm sind direkt um die Ecke und auch der nächste Penny und REWE ist auch nicht weit. Wenn du möchtest bist du auch schnell im Grünen (wenn man Richtung Norden läuft) und somit ist die Lage perfekt zum Laufen oder auf die Burg Plesse zu gelangen. Das Weender Freibad ist auch nicht weit, wo man gut schwimmen oder Volleyball spiele kann.
The student housing is located in Weende, the north of Göttingen. With the bike you will reach the clinic in 5 min, the main and north campus in 10 min and the city center in 15 min. But there is also a bus stop right in front of the building. Supermarket (tegut), dm are right around the corner and also the next Penny and REWE is not too far away. If you like you can get easily to greener areas (just walk to the northI which is perfect for running or going up to the castle „Plesse“. Also the public pool is not far away where you can swim and play Volleyball .
Du wirst mit Emo zusammen leben, sie ist auch erst Anfang August in die Wohnung gezogen, sodass es quasi eine Neugründung werden wird. Ihr könnt dann gerne selber entscheiden, wie ihr das Zusammenleben organisiert und gestaltet. Da Emo meine Wohnzeit übernommen hat werdet ihr erstmal nur noch ein Jahr (bis zum 30.9.) in dieser Wohnung wohnen könne. Dies könnte aber ein guter Start für Göttingen sein oder vielleicht planst du ja eh nur noch ein Jahr in Göttingen zu bleiben.
Ein paar Worte zu deiner neuen Mitbewohnerin:
Emo heißt eigentlich Zhengfang Yuan, aber sie würde lieber einfach Emo genannt werden. Sie kommt aus China und macht gerade ihren Master in Soziologie und Politik hier in Göttingen. Davor hat sie als Fotojournalist gearbeitet und kommt diesem Hobby in Form von fotografieren und schreiben auch immer noch nach. Sie macht gerne Sport, aktuell tanzt sie und malt gerne. Außerdem reist sie gerne und ist eine neugierige und offene Persönlichkeit. Sie würde gerne eine ordentliche und saubere Atmosphäre in der Wohnung schaffen und ist immer bereit über alles in der WG zu sprechen. Sie ist immer offen für ein Pläuschen oder gemeinsame Unternehmungen, kann aber auch verstehen, wenn mal man Zeit für sich braucht.
You will live together with Emo, she just recently moved to this apartment so it is kinda flat share establishment. So you two can decide on your own how you want to organize and live our flat share situation. Because Emo had to take over my housing time it will only be possible to live in this flat for one year (until the 20.9.23). But this can be perfect for a start in Göttingen to orientate yourself or maybe you plan to stay in Göttingen only for one year too.
A few words about your new roommate:
Her name is Zhengfang Yuan (I would like to be called Emo), a Chinese girl studying for a master's degree in sociological and political direction.
I like to live a cool life, used to work part-time as a photojournalist, and still keep up with my photography and writing habits. I like to keep fit by different sports; currently, dancing is my favorite. Seeing cultures everywhere allows me to stay curious and humble, so I’d like to travel all over the world! Apart from that I also enjoy painting.
I value neatness and want to be able to communicate with my flatmate and still leave each other personal space.
